Overview
Eishin Flash is a character from Umamusume Pretty Derby. She is a German exchange student attending Tracen Academy, where she belongs to the high school division and resides in the Ritto Dormitory. Known for organizing her life around meticulously timed schedules down to the exact second, she holds herself to an extraordinary standard of personal discipline. Although her uncompromising focus on efficiency can make her seem detached at first glance, she is actually a deeply caring and considerate horse girl.
Appearance
Eishin Flash has bright blue eyes and dark black hair styled in a clean bob cut with swept bangs framing her eyes. Her horse tail is kept impeccably trimmed to a precise length, and she wears an ear scrunchie accompanied by a ribbon on her right ear. Her primary racing attire, Meisterschaft, takes inspiration from traditional German dirndl dresses, featuring a low-cut bodice with red and black vertical stripes paired with black sleeves. She also wears a chocolatier outfit with her hair tied back in a single ponytail, a swimsuit outfit, and casual wear consisting of a beige jacket over black clothing.
Personality
Eishin Flash possesses an unwavering commitment to order, approaching every task with intense seriousness and precise organization. She adheres strictly to established routines and demands absolute accuracy when baking, refusing to tolerate even a single gram of variance from a recipe. Because she relies so heavily on careful preparation, unexpected disruptions easily cause her to panic. Beneath her rigid exterior, however, she is remarkably thoughtful and supportive toward those around her.
Abilities
On the track, Eishin Flash excels with a powerful finishing burst and sharp acceleration during the final stretch. She possesses a remarkable internal timing ability, allowing her to measure time accurately without a stopwatch when focused and serve as a human clock for fellow runners. Beyond running, she demonstrates expertise in sports nutrition, precision baking, soccer, fencing, and detailed tracing. During training, she can propose her own structured workout schedules that boost motivation and performance.
Background
Born and raised in Germany, Eishin Flash moved to Japan as an exchange student at Tracen Academy to honor the traditions of horse girls. She grew up in a family that operates a bakery, shaped by her father's meticulous craftsmanship as a pastry chef and her mother's history as a former horse girl. Balancing her academic duties with athletic training, she competes in major events, securing notable victories in Tokyo Racecourse G1 competitions such as the Japanese Derby.
Relationships
Eishin Flash shares a room in the Ritto Dormitory with Smart Falcon. Despite their starkly different personalities, the two enjoy a close relationship, with Flash quiet supporting her roommate's idol activities. She maintains a friendly dynamic with Gold Ship despite frequently being dragged into her unpredictable shenanigans. She also bonds with Neo Universe and Daiwa Scarlet through baking, and works alongside Tosen Jordan during student events.
Trivia
Her real-life counterpart was a racehorse that won the 2010 Japanese Derby and the 2012 Autumn Tenno Sho. Following his victory in the 2012 Autumn Tenno Sho, jockey Mirco Demuro famously dismounted on the track to kneel before the Emperor and Empress in attendance. In-game details, such as her fondness for natto, protection of ladybugs, and interest in soccer, pay homage to Demuro and the real horse's pedigree.
