Mimi Pearlbaton is a character from the light novel series Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World. She serves as one of the vice-captains of the Fang of Steel, a private mercenary group under the employment of royal candidate Anastasia Hoshin. A young cat demi-human, she acts as Anastasia's personal bodyguard. Despite her extremely small stature, she ranks just behind the captain in terms of combat capability within the mercenaries, alongside her two younger triplet brothers.

Appearance

Mimi is a feline demi-human featuring bright orange hair, blue eyes, cat ears, and a tail. Due to her species' traits, she is extremely petite at only 110 centimeters tall and weighing in the 30-kilogram range at age fourteen. Her hair is styled in twin braids decorated with hair ornaments, bells, and bows. She wears a white hooded robe accented with yellow.

Personality

Mimi is cheerful, straightforward, and energetic, speaking and acting in an overtly childlike manner. She possesses a massive appetite and a simple, innocent charm that easily brightens the room. However, working as a mercenary has given her a remarkably pragmatic attitude toward life and death. Although her impulsive nature frequently drags her younger brothers into chaos, she cares for them deeply and views the Fang of Steel and Anastasia as her family.

Mimi commands a colossal reservoir of mana, utilizing Earth magic alongside protective barriers and healing spells. She possesses the Divine Protection of Trisection, which allows her and her two triplet brothers to share and mitigate physical pain, injuries, and exhaustion among one another. She can also unleash a destructive shockwave technique called Resonance Wave, learned from watching Ricardo, which achieves its maximum power when used in combination with her brothers.

Background

Shortly after birth, Mimi and her brothers were abandoned by their mother due to the difficulty of raising triplets. They were rescued and raised by Ricardo Welkin, who became a paternal figure to them. As she grew up, she joined the Fang of Steel under Anastasia Hoshin, eventually serving as vice-captain and taking part in major operations such as the White Whale hunt.

Relationships
