Appearance
Typhon appears as a young girl with dark skin and rosy red cheeks. She has short, dark green hair trimmed at shoulder length with short bangs, adorned with blue flower hair clips and a floral wreath. Her eyes are red, and she wears a simple white sleeveless dress, remaining barefoot with an anklet.
Personality
Typhon is cheerful, energetic, and outwardly innocent, behaving much like a typical child. However, her extreme emotional immaturity leaves her unable to comprehend physical pain or the value of human life. She views morality in absolute black-and-white terms without middle ground, ruthlessly punishing anyone she deems evil. Outside of her urge to judge, she is affectionate, loves to play, and habitually calls others by shortened nicknames derived from their names.
Abilities
Typhon wields the Authority of Pride, which allows her to judge others based on their internal guilt. If a person harbors a sense of sin, she can shatter their body parts like glass. Those who are truly evil experience unbearable pain upon being shattered, and any body part destroyed by her power cannot naturally regenerate. This authority is ineffective against wild beasts or individuals who feel absolutely no remorse. When fully unleashed, her power presents a severe threat even to her fellow Witches.
Background
Raised by a executioner father, Typhon was exposed to public executions from a very early age. After accidentally breaking her father's drinking glass and being forgiven upon confessing, she concluded that guilt resides entirely within a person's own conscience. This realization prompted her to begin judging others based on their internal feelings of guilt, eventually turning her power upon her own father. In her past life, she died by drowning in a trap set at the Water Gate City of Priestella, where her remains continue to power the city's mechanics.
Relationships
Typhon is deeply attached to Sekhmet, the Witch of Sloth, addressing her affectionately like a mother and taking care of her by wiping her body. The other Witches of Sin, including Carmilla and Echidna, often look after her to keep her entertained. Upon meeting Natsuki Subaru in Echidna's tea party, she tested him with her authority; when he felt no pain despite his limbs shattering, she concluded he was not an evil person and took a friendly liking to him.
Trivia
Her name is derived from Typhon, the monstrous giant in Greek mythology, as well as the trans-Neptunian celestial body of the same name. Notably, her name originates from a masculine figure in myth, which is unique among the Witches of Sin. Early design sketches depicted her outfit as semi-translucent. Following the deaths of the Witches, the current location of her Witch Factor of Pride remains completely unknown.
