Overview

Frimelda Lotice is a Hume female knight from Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. Renowned throughout the region of Jylland by the epithet Sword Saint, she is a skilled warrior who suffered a tragic betrayal that temporarily turned her into an undead creature. After receiving aid from the protagonist's clan to regain her human form, she joins their group as a dependable ally.

Appearance

Frimelda is a Hume female with short brown hair and green and blue-hued eyes. She wears knightly attire and, following a failed assassination attempt, temporarily took on the physical appearance of an undead zombie.

Personality

Frimelda possesses a noble and refined demeanor, maintaining her polite etiquette even after being turned into an undead creature. Despite her solemn knightly manner, she is remarkably oblivious. Initially failing to realize her own undead state, she mistook her condition for feeling unwell and drank a Potion only to suffer severe pain, tried to stay at a human inn, and earnestly attempted to strike up friendships with wild zombies, only to be attacked.

Abilities

Frimelda's starting job class is Paladin, possessing balanced overall statistics. Revered as a Sword Saint, she exhibits outstanding swordplay. However, due to the stat growth characteristics of the Paladin job, joining the party at a higher level results in notoriously low speed growth, though early-level recruitment and careful training allow her to become a powerful combatant.

Background

Operating in the Jylland region, Frimelda earned fame as a Sword Saint by assisting those in need alongside her lover and fellow knight, Luc Sardarc. However, consumed by jealousy over always being second to her in skill, Luc attempted to poison her. Surviving the attempt in an undead state, she wandered the land as a zombie. Upon encountering the protagonist's party, she received their help in gathering the ingredients for a cure, successfully restoring her body and permanently joining their ranks.

Relationships

Luc Sardarc was her former lover and knightly partner, though his resentment toward her superior prowess drove him to attempt her murder. She holds deep gratitude and trust toward the protagonist Luso and his clan, who helped cure her zombie condition and welcomed her as a companion.

Trivia

Her endearing blunders while undead—such as suffering agony after consuming a healing Potion or trying to harmonize with hostile wild zombies—are fond memories for players. Furthermore, her famously sluggish action speed stemming from her late-game recruitment parameters as a Paladin is often affectionately viewed by fans as part of her overall charm.
