Midgardsormr possesses a colossal dragon form equipped with wings, famously depicted wrapped around the wreckage of a massive airship at Silvertear Falls. He is also capable of manifesting as a tiny, floating blue dragon.

Exuding immense dignity and authority as the ancestor of dragons, Midgardsormr speaks with a stern, ancient cadence. Though he initially acts as a demanding judge testing the mortal protagonist, he gradually reveals a wise, protective, and deeply observant nature as he guides them on their journey.

Capable of powerful flight with his massive wings, Midgardsormr possesses formidable combat prowess capable of taking on an entire Imperial airship fleet. He also holds the ability to alter his physical form into a miniature floating state to observe mortal events.
Background
Fleeing the mechanical weapon Omega across the stars, Midgardsormr arrived on Hydaelyn and sired the First Brood. During the Battle of Silvertear Skies, he brought down the Garlean flagship Agrius at the cost of entering a twenty-year slumber coiled around its ruins. Upon awakening when confronted by the Warrior of Light, he temporarily seals their divine blessing to test their worth, later accompanying them through the Dragonsong War and aiding them against his ancient rival Omega.
Relationships
Midgardsormr is the father of the First Brood, which includes legendary dragons such as Bahamut, Nidhogg, and Hraesvelgr. He shares an ancient, bitter enmity with the machine weapon Omega, which pursued him to Hydaelyn. Toward the Warrior of Light, he maintains a relationship that evolves from a stern examiner into a loyal champion and advisor.
Trivia
His name is derived from Midgard Serpent of Norse mythology. In-game, his miniature form serves as a companion minion that can perch on the protagonist, while his full majestic dragon form is eventually made available as a flying mount.
