Overview

Kimberly Jackson is a playable fighter introduced in Street Fighter 6. Hailing from the United States, she is a self-proclaimed apprentice to Guy, the 39th master of the Bushinryu style. Despite being a prodigy who skipped grades to graduate from university at a remarkably young age, she unexpectedly chose the path of a ninja. Deeply enamored with 80s pop culture and retro music, Kimberly blends high-speed Bushinryu ninjutsu with urban street culture, fighting as an energetic martial artist determined to prove herself as a true ninja.

Appearance

In her standard costume, Kimberly features five thick dreadlock braids with cyan gradient tips, a red gi-inspired top with the kanji for Bushin printed large on the back, red sneakers, and yellow wraps around her arms and legs. She fights while wearing a portable cassette player with wired earphones. Her second costume includes a sun visor, tank top, loose pants, and spray paint cans, with her braids bundled into a ponytail. Her third costume features a cyan afro held by a headband, a ninja face mask, a long scarf, a sleeveless mesh undershirt, and armor plates, along with a hip pouch embroidered with kanji. She has dark skin, a toned build, and brown eyes.

Personality

Kimberly is exceptionally bright, having graduated from college early, yet she maintains a cheerful, upbeat, and lively demeanor. She has a deep passion for 80s pop culture, retro music, sneakers, and the mathematical concept of a googol, while disliking emotional tear-jerker films. Her determined nature is clear from how she persistently sought out Guy to become his student. Striving to become a recognized Ninja Star, she brings a uniquely modern, upbeat energy to her training, often powering up by listening to music on her tape player even in the middle of battle.

Abilities

Kimberly fights using a customized variant of Bushinryu ninjutsu, emphasizing mobility, rapid strike combinations, and surprise attacks. Her arsenal includes the multi-hit Bushin Gokusa-ken, the dashing repositioning of Hayagake, instant displacement via Saiongyo, and jump trajectory alterations with Hijo Otoshi. She also uses spray paint cans directly as weapons and deploys them as timed explosives through Saiku Shuriken. Her Super Art 3, Bushin Kengen Kagura, grants a permanent buff to both attack power and movement speed that persists across subsequent rounds until the match ends.

Background

Born into an ordinary American family, Kimberly was a brilliant student who skipped several grades and finished university early. After visiting Metro City and being rescued from thugs in a slum area by the Bushinryu master Guy, she became fascinated by ninjutsu and insisted on becoming his apprentice. Her journey takes a serious turn when her uncle, Al Jackson—an employee at SiRN involved in investments in Nayshall—dies under mysterious circumstances. Investigating his death leads her to decode encrypted messages and eventually confront JP. Acknowledging her current limitations after the encounter, she continues her intense training to hone her skills.

Relationships

Guy, the 39th successor of Bushinryu, serves as Kimberly's master after she insisted on learning under him following a rescue in Metro City. Through Guy's lineage, she shares a disciple relationship with Gō. Her late uncle, Al Jackson, was a key figure whose unexplained death drives her global investigation. This search brings her into direct conflict with JP, the figures tied to the mystery surrounding her uncle's death, whom she confronts during her journey.

Trivia

The kanji embroidered on the pouch of her third costume serves as a phonetic representation of her name, Kimberly. The tenth color option of her third outfit references a character from Capcom lore. Due to her master Guy's connections, she is sometimes humorously viewed as a prospective member for Captain Commando's Commando Team, where she would become its first female member upon promotion. Additionally, activating her Super Art 3 changes the stage background music; if both players trigger SA3 during a Kimberly mirror match, the track transitions from an instrumental version to one featuring vocals.
