Overview
Kolin is a character from the Street Fighter fighting game series. She serves as the secretary to Gill, the leader of the Secret Society. Initially appearing as a non-playable character in the background and cutscenes of earlier titles, she later operated under the alias Helen in Street Fighter V before officially joining the playable roster.
Appearance
Kolin features long blonde hair styled with distinctive waves and blue eyes. While adopting the Helen alias, she modified both her hair and clothing. Her combat attire includes gloves and a coat complemented by a fur-trimmed Russian winter hat known as an ushanka.
Personality
Kolin presents herself as polite and intelligent, but beneath her calm exterior lies a calculating and ruthless nature. While courteous when it serves her interests, she quickly loses her composure when frustrated, revealing a sharp tongue and openly clicking her tongue in irritation. She adores reading and butterflies, yet holds immense disdain for military figures and virtually everything other than her master, Gill.
Abilities
Kolin employs Systema, a Russian martial art based on military combat tactics, utilizing fluent joint locks and strikes. Additionally, she possesses cryokinetic abilities, allowing her to manipulate ice during combat.
Background
Kolin originally appeared as an unplayable secretary alongside Gill in the Street Fighter III series. In Street Fighter V, she worked covertly under the pseudonym Helen, using Secret Society technology to revive Charlie Nash according to ancient prophecy. She then orchestrated a group including Nash, Rashid, Juri Han, and Cammy White to thwart M. Bison's secret project and destroy Shadaloo.
Relationships
Kolin is deeply devoted to her leader, Gill, acting as his dedicated secretary, and is also connected to his brother Urien within the Secret Society. In her campaign against M. Bison and Shadaloo, she resurrected Charlie Nash to use him as a weapon while forming temporary tactical ties with Rashid, Juri Han, and Cammy White.
Trivia
Kolin is notably the first non-playable character appearing in game cutscenes and endings within the Street Fighter series to be elevated to a playable roster spot in a later update.
