Overview

Belle is the selectable female protagonist of Zenless Zone Zero. In the city of New Eridu, she co-manages the Sixth Street video rental store named Random Play alongside her older brother, Wise. Behind this everyday storefront business, the siblings jointly operate under the alias Phaethon, serving as legendary non-governmental Proxy navigators who guide operatives through hazardous Hollow zones.

Appearance

Belle has short dark blue hair with crossed front bangs held by hair clips and ornaments, complemented by dark green eyes and earrings. Her attire consists of a black turtleneck shirt bearing the printed characters '亓才孑', layered under a jacket or vest. She wears safety shorts underneath and completes her look with asymmetrical socks of differing lengths and athletic sneakers.

Personality

Belle is an energetic and cheerful individual with sharp intuition and high resilience in dangerous situations. While she exhibits a playful and somewhat spoiled demeanor toward her older brother Wise, she displays a dependable, older-sisterly attitude when interacting with younger acquaintances. She is an avid movie enthusiast favoring thrillers and action films, and her quarters contain diverse items such as an electric guitar and a skateboard.

Abilities

While lacking physical combat skills and high resistance to navigate Hollows directly, Belle excels as a Proxy operator. By syncing her perception with the Bangboo Eous via the Hollow Deep Dive (H.D.D.) system, she provides zero-latency navigation and real-time support to Agents inside Hollows. She also utilizes the advanced AI program Fairy to analyze data rapidly and map optimal pathways.

Background

Belle spent her early life at the Helios Institute in Old Eridu, studying under senior research director Carole Arna. Eleven years ago, during the cataclysmic fall of the old city triggered by Hollow Zero, she was saved by Carole before her mentor vanished. Reestablishing herself in New Eridu, she built the Phaethon reputation with her brother. After losing their primary account to a cyberattack, she continues building Proxy prestige to uncover the cataclysm's truth and clear her mentor's name.

Relationships

Belle maintains a close sibling partnership with her brother, Wise. The Bangboo Eous and the artificial intelligence Fairy act as crucial system assistants. She holds deep affection for her former mentor, Carole Arna. Through her commissions, she forms bonds with figures across factions, including Nicole Demara and Billy Kid of the Cunning Hares, Koleda Belobog of Belobog Heavy Industries, Von Lycaon and Corin Wickes of Victoria Housekeeping, and Caesar King of Sons of Calydon, while maintaining contact with public safety officers like Zhu Yuan and Qingyi as well as Section 6 leader Hoshimi Miyabi.
