Yixuan

Overview

Yixuan is a character appearing in Zenless Zone Zero, developed by miHoYo. She serves as the 13th High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit, a Wayseeker lineage based in the Wei Fei District of New Eridu. Renowned as a supreme master of Ether arts, she also assists citizens with fortune-telling and warding off misfortune in the streets, holding immense martial capability alongside associations with the Hollow Investigative Association.

Appearance

Standing 172 cm tall, Yixuan features long white-silver hair with an ahoge, side-swept bangs, a hair clip, and distinct orange-golden slit eyes with green inner rings, alongside a mole on her chest. She wears a yellow Daoist outer robe over a sleeveless top with low-cut front and open-back designs, paired with thigh-exposing pants, a single-leg stocking, fingerless gloves, armlets, and short boots. An ink pot used to summon the Qingming Bird hangs at her waist. An alternate dark-colored costume incorporates lace details across the chest.

Personality

Despite her calm and refined traditional aura, Yixuan dislikes rigid formality, speaking in a straightforward and casual manner while comfortably using modern slang. Though her subtle facial expressions can make her appear unsociable or stern, she is deeply caring toward her disciples. In her fortune-telling practices, she intentionally provides uplifting guidance even when encountering bad omens to foster hope.

Abilities

Yixuan wields the special Xuanmo attribute and the Rupture type, casting arts that convert her attacks into Armor-Piercing damage to bypass enemy defenses. Utilizing talismans and ink, she creates Taiji arrays to pull in foes, deflect incoming strikes, and manifest giant ink wings for aerial control and multi-hit combos. She also commands an ink-formed entity called the Qingming Bird and can chain together two independent Ultimate abilities.

Background

After losing her parents to a Hollow disaster at a young age, Yixuan roamed the streets with her elder sister, Yijiang, until both were adopted by the 11th High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit. Through rigorous training, both sisters displayed remarkable talent. However, during the fall of the Old Capital, Yijiang succumbed to the tragic burden of the Qingming Sword and perished, leaving Yixuan as the sole survivor to inherit the title of 13th High Preceptor.

Relationships

She holds deep affection for her deceased elder sister, Yijiang, regularly visiting her memorial. She serves as a respected master to her disciples—Ju Fufu, Pan Yinhu, Ye Shiyuan, and Ye Shinguang—and takes in Phaethon (Wise and Belle) as honorary students to assist in investigations. She also maintains connections with Mayor Mayflower, Banyan, and Vivian.

Trivia

Following the traumatic loss of her sister, Yixuan completely lost her childhood appetite for char siu bao. Her ink-summoned companion, the Qingming Bird, serves as her avatar icon on the in-game messaging app.
