Cissia

Overview

Cissia is a character in Zenless Zone Zero who serves as an Inspector within the Metropolitan Order Division of the New Eridu Public Security, operating directly under Severian Lowell. Classified as an Electric-attribute agent with the Attack specialty, she is a Snake Thiren known for her flashy, gyaru-esque demeanor and informal speech pattern, making her stand out distinctly from conventional law enforcement officers.

Appearance

Cissia has red eyes, sharp fangs, and long blonde hair styled with an ahoge, a diagonal half-up braid, and a side ponytail. She possesses a large, muscular white snake tail with an arrowhead attached to its tip. Her attire features a multicolored highleg leotard with a black leather lower section sporting a checkered reptile-scale pattern, frilled detached sleeves, a microskirt, black thighhighs, and black boots. She wears a shock-delivering choker around her neck, draped with a white snake named Chalky, along with handcuffs-styled bracelets on her wrists.

Personality

Cissia displays a cheerful, overly familiar gyaru attitude paired with a shameless and opportunistic disposition. She actively avoids danger and effort, often taking advantage of her position to order others around or resorting to fake tears to slip out of trouble. Beneath her brassy exterior, she is easily intimidated and grows terrified around authority figures. She also possesses an intense obsession with food—particularly eggs—and exhibits unrefined culinary tastes, willingly consuming free samples or food intended for pets.

Abilities

Cissia fights using a specialized polearm that can separate into twin whip-like blades and be controlled remotely through thought. The arrowhead on her tail functions as a hidden weapon capable of delivering poison, paralytics, or sleeping agents. As a Snake Thiren, her muscular tail grants superior flexibility and strength for constriction or support, enabling snake-like three-dimensional movement. She also has the ability to detect ether traces left by living beings. In battle, she manages a unique "Poison" resource to inflict Electric damage, empower teammates, weaken enemies, and trigger passive follow-up attacks.

Background

Raised as an orphan with no memory of her parents, Cissia spent her youth in a rough outer-ring district, earning notoriety as a street racer known as the "Poison Fang." Facing extended forced labor due to past criminal activities, she accepted a plea bargain that placed her in the Public Security force under strictly monitored conditions, including tracking and restraint devices. Despite her traumatic past experiences and rough upbringing, encountering changing environments and transformed acquaintances gradually prompts her to reconsider her perspective on life.

Relationships

She harbors an extreme dread of her supervisor, Severian Lowell, referring to him as the "Great Demon King" and panicking at any incoming communication from him. Jane Doe, who originally brought her in, maintains a firm handle on her, though Jane views her as a cute colleague. Cissia is similarly terrified by Zhu Yuan's energetic greetings. Conversely, she treats her white snake companion, Chalky, as beloved family rather than a mere pet. She remains deeply traumatized by Promeia, becoming completely paralyzed whenever in her presence.

Trivia

Reflecting her snake traits, she shrinks into a simplified, Tsuchinoko-like shape when overwhelmed by extreme fear. Her segmented polearm weapon is often likened by observers to famous fictional snake-swords or iconic double-helixed spears due to its distinct segmented design.
