Ju Fufu

Overview

Ju Fufu is a playable character in the action game Zenless Zone Zero, developed by HoYoverse. She is a Tiger Thiren and the senior disciple (Da Shijie) of the Yunkui Summit martial arts faction, serving under her master Yixuan. Despite her petite, young appearance, she is the oldest student at the dojo, taking on logistical and financial duties while acting as a senior guide to her fellow disciples, including the proxies Wise and Belle. In combat, she operates as a Fire-attribute Stun Agent.

Appearance

Ju Fufu is a tiger girl with droopy green eyes, a fang, tiger ears, and a tiger tail. She has waist-length blonde hair featuring white inner highlights and black tiger-stripe accents, styled in an outward-curled half-up look with straight bangs. Her outfit consists of an open yellow jacket over a grey collared shirt, black shorts, elbow-length fingerless gloves, three-quarter socks, a thigh strap, and canvas shoes. She carries decorative tags reading '观主 奉 值日' on her chest, '风从虎' at her waist, and four '火' characters tied to her tail ornament.

Personality

Energetic, cheerful, and loud, Ju Fufu has a vibrant personality with a huge appetite. She takes her status as the eldest senior disciple very seriously and tries to project a dignified, heroic aura; however, her naturally cute and earnest demeanor often leads others to treat her like a mascot, much to her comedic dismay. She gets highly defensive when mistaken for a common tabby or orange cat, firmly insisting on her tiger heritage. She possesses a deep sense of justice and feels a strong duty to protect others and act righteously.

Abilities

As a Fire-attribute Stun Agent, Ju Fufu fights using clawed brass knuckles for rapid slash attacks alongside her mechanical companion, 'Hu Wei'. Hu Wei acts as an autonomous combat unit that attacks enemies independently, generates 'Wifeng' resources, and can be swung like a meteor hammer. Ju Fufu can also ride atop Hu Wei in a high-speed spinning state to ram targets. Additionally, Hu Wei features a built-in mechanism that fires popcorn and flames to deal damage and support the team with defensive and offensive buffs.

Background

Ju Fufu is one of the few survivors of a Tiger Thiren settlement that was swallowed by a Hollow during the fall of the Old Capital. Her people perished after refusing to sacrifice their kin using the taboo relic 'Fuhu Bell'. Left as a homeless orphan, she was rescued by Yixuan and became her very first disciple, helping her master rebuild the ruined Yunkui Summit to its former glory. Later, she meets the proxy siblings during Hollow investigations, eventually helping welcome them as honorary disciples of the dojo.

Relationships

Ju Fufu treats her master, Yixuan, with deep respect and loyalty. She acts as a protective and caring senior sister to her fellow disciples—Ye Shiyuan, Pan Yinhu, Ye Shunguanguang, and the proxy siblings Wise and Belle. She is particularly fond of Ye Shunguanguang, encouraging others to show her proper respect. During a movie production inside a Hollow, she also encountered Cang Huang, a fellow Tiger Thiren martial artist.

Trivia

During her idle animation, Ju Fufu spends extended time sharpening her claws on her weapon, Hu Wei. Her name 'Fufu' plays on a homophone between 'Fu' (blessing) and the local Cantonese/Waifei dialect pronunciation for 'Tiger'. Her companion device Hu Wei uniquely doubles as a functioning pressure cooker capable of making popcorn.
