Dialyn

Overview

Dialyn is a playable agent in Zenless Zone Zero. She serves as a Judge within the Krampus Compliance Authority while publicly working as a customer service operator. Armed with the Physical attribute and the Stun specialty, she operates on the front lines while providing powerful team support.

Appearance

Dialyn has a petite build standing 145 cm tall, featuring long two-tone black and white hair styled into double buns and twin braids, complemented by straight bangs, an ahoge, and hair clips. She has golden eyes and a cat-like mouth. Her panda-themed white Chinese dress (qipao) features bare shoulders, paired with a necktie, detached sleeves, fingerless gloves with manicured nails, white thigh-high socks, and platform shoes. She wears earrings and wields large chakrams.

Personality

On the surface, Dialyn exhibits an energetic demeanor, but she is highly sarcastic and sharp-tongued. In her customer support duties, she often taunts angry callers or feigns connection issues to cut calls, frustrating her superiors despite her excellent work metrics. As a Judge, she shows a cold, relentless side toward wrongdoers. Shaped by her past, she believes that the living speak only lies, whereas the final words of the dead are the absolute truth. She also possesses a soft spot for fluffy animals and Thirens.

Abilities

In lore, Dialyn possesses the ability to hear the lingering last words of those who died inside Hollows. In combat, she acts as a Physical Stun agent using large chakrams. Her Core Passive converts Crit Rate above a set threshold into Impact. Her EX Special Attacks perform a rock-paper-scissors combination that inflicts a debuff extending enemy daze duration and boosting daze damage multipliers. By accumulating her rating gauge, she can force an incoming teammate's Chain Attack to upgrade into an Ultimate skill without consuming Decibels. Her capabilities expand when paired with Attack or Ruin allies.

Background

Hailing from Chenghui Square, Dialyn was shunned in her youth for her ability to hear the dead, which locals regarded as a curse. She was raised by an adoptive mother until her community chose her as a human sacrifice to a Hollow. Inside the Hollow, the lingering voices of the deceased revealed that the event was an insurance fraud scheme orchestrated by a construction firm, and that her own adoptive mother had suggested sacrificing her. Escaping the Hollow alone, she joined the Krampus Compliance Authority, transforming her cursed trait into her primary tool as a Judge.

Relationships

Dialyn works alongside her Krampus Compliance Authority colleagues Zhao and Promea. Regarding the mechanical warrior Bange, she used her ability to uncover the true final wishes of victims from a past disaster, guiding him into joining the Krampus Compliance Authority to begin his path of redemption rather than destroying him. She also collaborates with the proxies Phaethon and the swordswoman Ye Shunguang, bringing critical truths to light during investigations.

Trivia

Dialyn's name plays on telecommunication terms such as 'dialing' or 'dial in', while her Chinese name Liuyin is a homophone for leaving a voice message. Her panda motif, black-and-white hair, and sarcastic customer service persona sparked widespread fan interest. Ahead of her release, official social media and customer service accounts temporarily adopted her avatar and persona to interact directly with players.
