Overview

Piper Wheel is an A-Rank playable Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, serving as a driver for the outer-ring faction Sons of Calydon. She pilots the team's large muscle-style truck, the Iron Tusk. Despite her youthful and petite appearance, she possesses a mature mindset and lethargic, older-skewing habits. In combat, she functions as a Physical Anomaly character who wields a massive heavy axe constructed from repurposed automobile chassis and brake parts.

Appearance

Piper is a girl of short height with long blonde hair tied partly in a hair bun, paired with green eyes. Her outfit consists of a cropped black tank top exposing her shoulders and midriff, white detached sleeves, yellow gloves, black shorts held by a grey belt, orange pants, grey shoes, and goggles worn around her neck.

Personality

Piper is fundamentally relaxed and lethargic, constantly looking for opportunities to lounge around and avoid overwork. Beneath her lazy, passive demeanor lies a mature and highly pragmatic mindset. She holds quirky, older-skewing personal interests, such as reading physical newspapers, collecting automotive magazines, buying lottery tickets, and monitoring horse races. When she feels shy or embarrassed, she has a habit of referring to herself in the third person as 'this person'.

Abilities

Piper is an extraordinarily skilled professional driver, capable of performing wild high-speed evasive maneuvers such as heel-and-toe downshifting and 180-degree turns even under heavy enemy pursuit. In battle, she wields a heavy axe constructed from car parts, utilizing continuous spinning slashes to inflict Physical damage and build up Attribute Anomaly. Charging her special skill increases its speed and strength up to two levels, which can then be cancelled or finished with a powerful downward slam.

Background

Operating out of the Outer Ring of New Eridu, Piper serves the Sons of Calydon by handling vehicle maintenance and supply transport. Originally fulfilling routine errands around the city, she became directly involved in major outer-ring investigations alongside the Phaethon proxies, showcasing her expertise behind the wheel during dangerous transport missions. Although she often contemplates retirement to live a life of leisure, the ongoing demands of managing the team's logistical routes keep her on the road for her companions.

Relationships

Piper works under Caesar King, the leader of the Sons of Calydon, alongside her teammates Lucy, Burnice White, Lighter, and Pulchra. She frequently acts as a grounded foil to Burnice, scolding her whenever she endangers their truck with volatile fuel mixtures. Outside her team, she gets along well with Enzo over vehicle modifications and uses her sharp mechanical knowledge and calm diplomacy to manage individuals like Grace Howard during technical issues.

Trivia

Her name is derived from 'Piper' (one who plays a pipe) and 'Wheel'. Her designated truck, the Iron Tusk, is designed after an American muscle-style semi-truck. She is so fond of engine sounds that she wakes up by listening to a recording of her own vehicle starting up. In the character detail interface, switching between the equipment and skill tabs triggers a distinct posing animation that highlights her underarms.
