Appearance
Kamado Hanako has straight-cut black hair styled in a chin-length bob with neat bangs across her forehead. She possesses reddish eyes. Her outfit consists of a pale pink kimono covered by a traditional white apron.
Personality
Hanako is an affectionate young girl who is deeply attached to her eldest brother, Kamado Tanjirou, often longing to accompany him on his trips to town. Despite her youth, she displays a responsible side by keeping her brothers, Kamado Takeo and Kamado Shigeru, from misbehaving. She is caring and family-oriented, willingly aiding her mother, Kamado Kie, with daily household chores.
Abilities
Hanako possessed no combat abilities in life, but following her death, her spirit manifests to guide Kamado Tanjirou during critical battles. In the Entertainment District arc, when Tanjirou pushes his body to the absolute limit and stops breathing during a life-or-death struggle, Hanako's spirit intervenes to remind him to breathe, saving him from fatal physical exhaustion.
Background
Hanako resided on Mount Kumotori with her parents, Kamado Tanjuro and Kamado Kie, along with her five siblings. Following her father's death, she looked up to Kamado Tanjirou as the head of the household. On a snowy day, she asked to join Tanjirou on his trip to sell charcoal, but stayed behind at her mother's request. That evening, Muzan Kibutsuji raided their home, killing Hanako and most of her family. Her remains were later buried by Tanjirou and Kamado Nezuko. During the encounter with the demon Enmu, an illusion of Hanako was conjured in a dream to guilt-trip Tanjirou, but Tanjirou fiercely rejected the fake vision knowing his family's true love.
Relationships
Hanako adored her eldest brother, Kamado Tanjirou, often riding in his charcoal cart when tired. She maintained close ties with her sister Kamado Nezuko, her father Kamado Tanjuro, and her youngest brother Kamado Rokuta. She frequently acted as a grounding presence for her brothers Kamado Takeo and Kamado Shigeru during their antics. Muzan Kibutsuji is the murderer responsible for taking her life and family, while the demon Enmu misused her image in a dream to attack Tanjirou mentally.
