Overview

Nakime is a key antagonist in Kimetsu no Yaiba, serving as a trusted close attendant to the progenitor of demons, Kibutsuji Muzan. Initially an unranked demon dwelling within the extra-dimensional Infinity Castle, she is later promoted to the New Upper Rank Four of the Twelve Kizuki following the defeat of Hantengu. Playing a traditional biwa, she controls the spatial architecture of the Infinity Castle and serves as the primary intelligence gatherer for Muzan.

Appearance

Nakime is a female demon with fair white skin and long black hair featuring heavy straight bangs that obscure the upper portion of her face. Hidden beneath her front hair is a single large cyclops eye, with the kanji for Four inscribed upon its iris after her promotion. She wears traditional Japanese clothing and is constantly depicted carrying a large wooden biwa.

Personality

Nakime exhibits a quiet, detached, and thoroughly professional demeanor, speaking only when strictly necessary. She remains completely indifferent to the interpersonal drama among the Upper Rank demons, internally favoring efficiency and prompt departures over small talk. She demonstrates a blunt and unyielding rejection of any casual or flirtatious advances, focusing entirely on executing her assigned duties for her master.

Abilities

Her Blood Demon Art allows her to generate and freely manipulate the extra-dimensional Infinity Castle. By strumming her biwa, she can alter the layout, room connections, and geometry of the castle to reposition allies, block attacks, or divide enemies. She can also open spatial portals to transport individuals into or out of the fortress. Furthermore, she can spawn numerous palm-sized single-eyeball familiars to conduct long-range reconnaissance, gathering information across vast areas. While lacking high offensive lethality, her spatial manipulation makes her nearly impossible to approach directly.

Background

In her human life, Nakime was an impoverished, obscure biwa player. After her gambling husband sold her sole performance kimono, she beat him to death with a tuning hammer. Discovering that performing immediately after committing a murder yielded critical acclaim, she became a serial killer who murdered before every concert. When she mistakenly targeted Kibutsuji Muzan prior to a performance, he survived her strike, took a liking to her unusual nature, and transformed her into a demon. As a demon, she managed the Infinity Castle, eventually locating the Ubuyashiki estate and triggering the final battle by pulling the Demon Slayer Corps into her fortress. During the climax, Yushiro hijacked her central nervous system, prompting Muzan to abruptly destroy her head to regain control, which triggered the castle's collapse.

Relationships

She serves Kibutsuji Muzan directly, who favors her for her high efficiency and spatial utility. She maintains a cold distance from her fellow Upper Ranks, repeatedly rejecting the friendly invitations of Upper Rank Two, Douma. During the Infinity Castle battle, she held off both the Serpent Hashira, Obanai Iguro, and the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, through continuous spatial warping, but was ultimately caught off guard and mentally controlled by the demon Yushiro.

Trivia

She ranked 68th in the second official character popularity poll. The revelation of her serial-killer past in the official fanbook completely transformed her fan image from a quiet background figure into a memorable favorite among readers. The biwa she carries visually matches the characteristics of a traditional Satsuma biwa. In the official spin-off Kimetsu Gakuen!, she acts as the school's vice-principal while secretly gathering intelligence for the politician Muzan.
