Overview

Urogi is a supporting antagonist in the manga and anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is one of the emotional manifestations spawned from Hantengu, the Upper Rank Four demon of the Twelve Kizuki, representing the emotion of joy. Distinctive for his avian features, he fights primarily from the air.

Appearance

Urogi possesses a hybrid avian form featuring large feathered bird wings, bird-like digitigrade legs, and sharp talons in place of human hands and feet. He is a dark-skinned, toned male who goes topless with a hakama, wearing beads. He has shoulder-length wavy brown and black hair, grey horns, pointy ears, sharp fangs, and yellow eyes with colored sclera and slit pupils. The kanji character for joy is engraved on his tongue.

Personality

True to the emotion he embodies, Urogi maintains an intensely ecstatic and cheerful demeanor even in battle. He treats combat as a form of play and amusement, deriving sadistic pleasure from fighting and constantly sporting an unhinged, joyous expression.

Abilities

Urogi is capable of high-speed flight, allowing him to dominate aerial combat. He possesses a Blood Demon Art that enables him to emit powerful, high-frequency ultrasonic screams from his mouth to disorient and damage foes. Furthermore, he utilizes his exceptionally hard and sharp talons to strike enemies from above.

Background

During the Swordsmith Village Arc, Urogi was manifested when Hantengu was decapitated, splitting his body into separate demons based on different emotions alongside Sekido, Karaku, and Aizetsu. He immediately joined the attack against the Demon Slayers, using his mobility to separate the fighters.

Relationships

Urogi is a clone generated from Hantengu, the Upper Rank Four demon. He fights in tandem with his fellow emotional manifestations—Sekido, Karaku, and Aizetsu—and opposes Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, and Genya Shinazugawa.

Trivia

The single kanji character engraved on his tongue directly corresponds to the emotion of joy that he personifies, matching the design pattern shared by Hantengu's other emotional clones.
