Overview

Zorida is a female demon appearing in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Serving under Revolte, she frequently partners with another male demon named Hemon. During the Northern Plateau arc, she participates in an attack on a settlement in the Rufen region, subsequently confronting the group of mages dispatched at Serie's request.

Appearance

Zorida possesses horns resembling those of a water buffalo that curve sideways and upward from her head. She has light green hair with straight-cut bangs, and her long back hair reaches her waist, held into five distinct bundles by fasteners. A double-wrapped black cloth completely obscures her eyes. Her attire consists of a waist cloth worn over spats, and she carries a longsword at her waist.

Personality

Zorida has a battle-hungry, warrior-like demeanor, favoring direct and honorable head-on combat. She gains satisfaction from fighting strong opponents and refrains from attacking distracted foes, reminding them to stay focused on her. Having seemingly learned formal combat etiquette from fighting human warriors, she nevertheless exhibits slow reactions toward subtle trickery, clever magical workarounds, and non-combat knowledge.

Abilities

Zorida relies on a highly disciplined, solid close-quarters swordplay style that seamlessly integrates offense and defense. She complements her longsword skills with Medrojuvalt, a magic that transforms her attacks into powerful, long-range whirlwinds of force capable of gouging the ground and felling trees.

Background

Zorida takes part in a raid on a village in the Rufen region to lure out high-level human mages. In the ensuing battle, she engages the first-class mage Methode in a one-on-one duel. Though initially concealed by Hemon's mist magic, the fog is eventually dispelled after Methode analyzes it, allowing Fern to pinpoint Zorida's position and defeat her with a long-range spell.

Relationships

Zorida acts under the command of Revolte and frequently fights alongside her male demon partner, Hemon. During her final battle, she engages Methode in direct combat and is ultimately slain by Fern's ultra-long-range attack.

Trivia

Zorida was unnamed during her initial appearance in the manga, with her official name later disclosed alongside the anime adaptation. In the series' third official popularity poll, she unexpectedly achieved 9th place.
