Overview
Cheadle Yorkshire is a character from the manga series HUNTER×HUNTER. She is a member of the Zodiacs, the top executive group within the Hunter Association, holding the codename "Dog." A Triple-Star Disease Hunter, she is also a qualified physician and legal scholar. Recognized as the primary strategist of the Zodiacs, she assumed the role of 14th Chairman of the Hunter Association following the brief tenure and immediate resignation of Pariston Hill. During the expedition to the Dark Continent, she serves in the Science Team.
Appearance
She is depicted as an intellectual woman wearing glasses, featuring dog-like ears on her head and a dog-like nose. She has long green hair, wears a hat, and dresses in a long-sleeved outfit. Her hands are covered in white gloves featuring paw pads. In her scene appearances, a visual presentation of flowers blooming abundantly in the background is frequently used.
Personality
She is a moralist who places great emphasis on order, rules, and organizational balance. Within the Zodiacs, she belongs to the moderate conservative faction alongside Mizaistom Nana and others, serving as the group's practical mind with strong administrative and moderating skills. She has a unique habit of appending a summary arrow symbol to her spoken points, though she drops this mannerism and speaks normally whenever she loses her temper.
Abilities
She possesses high-level medical expertise as a Disease Hunter alongside scholar-level legal knowledge, combined with superior administrative and organizational planning capabilities. Conversely, her direct combat ability is noted by Pariston Hill to not be her strong suit. Her specific Nen ability is not revealed in the story.
Background
She makes her debut during the Chairman Election Arc as a key figure of the pro-Chairman faction. To prevent Pariston Hill from seizing the leadership, she devised political strategies including the support of Leorio Paradinight, but ultimately lost the election. However, after Pariston won and appointed her vice chairman, he immediately resigned, resulting in her promotion to 14th Chairman. Upon taking office, she honors the late Chairman Netero's directive by reorganizing the association and preparing for the Dark Continent expedition.
Relationships
She shares a deep political rivalry with Pariston Hill, whom she opposed throughout the election. Ging Freecss often critiques her personality and points out her inconsistent speech mannerisms when flustered. Recognizing Leorio Paradinight's public appeal and potential, she recruited him into the Zodiacs and the medical team for the Dark Continent. Within the Zodiacs, she forms a moderate faction with Mizaistom Nana, Botobai Gigante, and Ginta.
Trivia
Members of the Zodiacs alter their appearance to match their assigned animal out of deep admiration for former Chairman Isaac Netero, leading her to adopt dog-like features for the "Dog" codename. Her unique habit of inserting an arrow symbol to summarize her speech is rendered in the anime adaptation as a hand gesture pointing forward.
