Overview

Wing is a character from HUNTER×HUNTER. He is a Professional Hunter, an assistant master of Shingen-ryu Kung-fu, and a secret examiner for the Hunter Exam. At Heavens Arena, he serves as the primary mentor who introduces Gon Freecss and Killua Zoldyck to the fundamentals of Nen. Although he presents himself as an unassuming and unkempt individual, he is an exceptionally skilled Enhancer and a deeply responsible instructor who carefully guides his students.

Appearance

Wing wears glasses and has short black hair that is perpetually messy with bedhead. He pays little attention to his personal grooming, noticeably wearing his shirt with the hem untucked and hanging outside his trousers.

Personality

Wing is normally mild-mannered, gentle, and somewhat absent-minded in his day-to-day life. However, as a Nen instructor, he is deeply serious and strict, fully respecting the danger inherent in aura and forbidding unsafe shortcuts. He possesses a strong sense of morality, not hesitating to slap a student or shout loud enough to shake an arena when rules are disregarded. He also exhibits remarkable insight into human potential, quickly discerning talent and continuing to offer thoughtful advice to his pupils long after their formal training ends.

Abilities

Wing is an Enhancer-type Nen user. He can forcibly awaken a person's aura nodes by injecting his own aura directly into their body. Through the application of Shu, he can dramatically increase the hardness of objects, and he has demonstrated the ability to shatter structures by transferring aura into a wall to create massive cracks. He can also employ special vow-based techniques, such as applying a String of Promise inscribed with mysterious characters around a finger, which automatically snaps if the wearer secretly activates Nen in violation of their pledge.

Background

Having trained under Biscuit Krueger, Wing became an assistant master of Shingen-ryu Kung-fu and a secret examiner for the Hunter Association. While staying at Heavens Arena with his apprentice Zushi, he met Gon Freecss and Killua Zoldyck, guiding them through the foundational principles of Nen and conducting the Water Divination test before officially passing Gon in the secret Hunter Exam. He later provided telephone counsel to Gon regarding the development of his Hatsu technique. During the 13th Hunter Chairman Election, he visited the hospitalized Gon and participated in the voting process, expressing great admiration for the speech delivered by Leorio Paradinight.

Relationships

Biscuit Krueger is Wing's martial arts master. Zushi is his primary student who accompanies him. He acted as the Nen instructor and secret Hunter Exam proctor for Gon Freecss and Killua Zoldyck, helping shape their early growth as Hunters. During the 13th Hunter Chairman Election, he expressed strong appreciation for the speech made by Leorio Paradinight.
