Overview

Rammot is a character in Hunter X Hunter who serves as a squad officer under Colt within the Chimera Ant military. Born as a hybrid of a human, a rabbit, and a shrike, he plays a key role during the Chimera Ant arc. His accidental survival against the protagonists becomes the primary catalyst for spreading Nen abilities throughout the entire Chimera Ant army.

Appearance

Rammot possesses the physical form of a Chimera Ant combining human, rabbit, and shrike traits. His visual design features long rabbit-like ears paired with avian facial elements inherited from his shrike lineage.

Personality

Extremely short-tempered and ruthless, Rammot routinely ignores orders from his commander Colt, choosing to slaughter humans brutally rather than capturing them alive. Inheriting the instincts of a shrike, he compulsively impales his prey on tree branches to store it, aggressively attacking anyone who comes near. Gaining Nen temporarily inflated his ego to the point of coveting the throne, yet he is fundamentally submissive before overwhelming strength and takes sadistic pleasure in tormenting defenseless opponents.

Abilities

Rammot is an Enhancer in terms of Nen category. He possesses remarkable durability, managing to survive direct hits from Gon Freecss's Jajanken "Gu" and Killua Zoldyck's Narukami attack. This traumatic experience served as a baptism that forcibly unlocked his Nen nodes. Following his awakening, he gained the ability to open the Nen nodes of other Chimera Ants by physically striking them.

Background

Rammot first appears in the Chimera Ant arc as an officer under Colt. While guarding his stored prey, he fought Gon Freecss and Killua Zoldyck. Survived their devastating attacks, he underwent a Nen baptism and subsequently punched his fellow officers and squad leaders to awaken their Nen as well. Although he briefly harbored ambitions to become the King, an encounter with Neferpitou's overwhelming aura crushed his pride. In a rematch against Killua, Rammot tormenting him while Killua was restrained by a brainwashing needle. However, once Killua extracted the needle, Rammot was paralyzed by pure terror and decapitated in an instant.

Relationships

Rammot maintained a hostile relationship with his squad leader Colt due to his repeated disobedience. His battle with Gon Freecss and Killua Zoldyck triggered his Nen awakening, and Killua ultimately ended his life in their rematch. When confronted by Neferpitou, the terrifying gap in power forced Rammot into absolute submission. Additionally, officers and squad leaders like Hagya and Zazan acquired their Nen abilities directly through Rammot's physical punches.

Trivia

Rammot's behavior incorporates the real-world shrike instinct known as "hayanie," where birds impale captured prey on sharp twigs. His unexpected survival against the main characters inadvertently heightened the global threat of the Chimera Ants by spreading Nen to high-ranking officers within their ranks.
