Sui-Feng

Overview

Sui-Feng is a character in Tite Kubo's manga Bleach and its adaptations. She serves as the Captain of the 2nd Division in the Gotei 13, Commander-in-Chief of the Stealth Force (Onmitsukido), and Corps Commander of the Executive Militia. Hailing from the lower-noble Fon family, she inherited the title Sui-Feng upon taking her position. A devoted and strict martial authority, she leads her units with absolute discipline, prioritizing orders and regulations above all else.

Appearance

Sui-Feng has a petite, slight physique with dark purple hair and matching eyes. Her hair features straight-cut blunt bangs and longer side locks over time. Her uniform, designed for combat as leader of the Executive Militia, consists of a sleeveless and backless top underneath her standard outerwear, paired with long black sleeves on both arms.

Personality

Sui-Feng is prideful, highly disciplined, and driven by a strict sense of duty. While appearing cold and uncompromising toward enemies and traitors, she maintains a sense of care for her subordinates. She harbors an intense admiration for her former superior, Yoruichi Shihouin, which strongly influences her personal motivations. Conversely, she holds deep grudges against individuals such as Kisuke Urahara.

Abilities

A master of hand-to-hand combat and stealth techniques, Sui-Feng commands the Zanpakuto Suzumebachi. Its Shikai form attaches a stinger-like weapon to her middle finger, inflicting a marking called Homonka; striking the exact same location twice results in absolute death. Her Bankai, Jakuho Raikoben, equips her right arm with a massive golden missile launcher capable of devastating explosive firepower. She is also skilled in Shunko, combining physical attacks with high-density Kido.

Background

Born as Fon Shaolin into a noble family dedicated to assassination and execution, she discarded her original name to adopt Sui-Feng upon joining the Stealth Force. She served under Yoruichi Shihouin, developing a profound respect for her. Following Yoruichi's sudden departure from Soul Society, Sui-Feng channelled her bitterness into hard work, eventually rising to become Division Captain and commander of the Stealth Force.

Relationships

Sui-Feng retains profound loyalty and respect for Yoruichi Shihouin, who once served as her mentor and commander. She maintains a stern dynamic with her lieutenant, Marechiyo Omaeda, though they rely on each other during combat. She harbours a strong personal resentment toward Kisuke Urahara and maintains a disdainful attitude toward Shinji Hirako and the Visored.

Trivia

She enjoys collecting cat-themed merchandise in her spare time. The headquarters of her division features specialized modern amenities paid for by her lieutenant, Marechiyo Omaeda. She also serves as a director in the Women's Soul Reaper Association.
