Frustrated by Momo Hinamori's weak-willed state following Sosuke Aizen's betrayal, Tobiume initially distance herself from her master. Despite this, she remains protective of Hinamori, becoming angry if others speak ill of her. She frequently argues with Haineko, yet the two spend much of their time together and occasionally cooperate in shared mischief.
Abilities
Activated by the command "Snap," Tobiume's Shikai transforms the blade into a seven-branched shape capable of launching fireballs. In her manifested persona, she utilizes her two large bells to fire these explosive flame projectiles. Its straightforward nature allows for versatile tactical applications.
Background
During the Zanpakuto Unknown Tales arc, Tobiume manifests as an independent entity and leaves Momo Hinamori due to disappointment over her master's lingering distress after Sosuke Aizen's betrayal. Despite leaving, she retains her affection for her master. Throughout the arc, she is often accompanied by Haineko, participating in antics such as trying to peek at Senbonzakura's face under his mask.

Tobiume is the Zanpakuto of Momo Hinamori; despite feeling let down by her master's grief, she remains deeply devoted to her. Trivia
Her name is believed to originate from the legendary "Tobiume" (Flying Plum Tree) associated with Sugawara no Michizane, a Sugawara clan politician of the Heian period. According to folklore, the beloved tree flew from the capital to Dazaifu to follow its exiled master, and it remains honored at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.
