Eso

Overview

Eso is a character from the manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. As the second of the Special Grade cursed objects known as the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings created by Kamo Noritoshi, he is a Special Grade cursed spirit born as a hybrid of a human and a curse. He is the middle brother of the trio, positioned between his older brother Choso and younger brother Kechizu.

Appearance

Eso appears as a muscular man with brownish-black hair styled in a mohawk and purple eyes. His most distinctive physical feature is a secondary human face located on his back. His lower body attire features a combination of leather underwear with a garter belt in the manga, which was altered to suspender tights in the anime adaptation.

Personality

Eso possesses a deep affection for his brothers, prioritizing them above all else, while harboring intense hatred for his creator, Kamo Noritoshi. He is sensitive about the face on his back and reacts with murderous intent toward anyone who sees it. Despite his violent demeanor in battle, he is prone to moments of overconfidence.

Abilities

Eso utilizes the Rot Technique, a hereditary innate technique that uses his highly corrosive blood to decompose targets. His powerful extension technique, Maximum: Wing King, shapes his blood into wing-like appendages on his back to strike at high speeds. He can also execute Decay, a shared technique with Kechizu that causes targets splashed with his blood to rot in flower-like patterns.

Background

After being retrieved from Tokyo Jujutsu High by Mahito, Eso took form by incarnating into a human vessel. Dispatched to Yasohachi Bridge with his brother Kechizu to recover one of Sukuna's fingers, he encountered Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki. After his back was seen during the confrontation, he sought to eliminate them, but was ultimate defeated and killed in the ensuing battle.

Relationships

Eso harbors intense animosity toward Kamo Noritoshi, the evil sorcerer who created the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings. He shares a strong fraternal bond with his older brother Choso and younger brother Kechizu. During the mission at Yasohachi Bridge, he fought opposing Jujutsu High students Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki.

Trivia

Eso's physical appearance after incarnation was not dictated by his human vessel; rather, it reflects his self-imagined adult form conceived during his centuries spent as a fetus.
