Overview
Ui Ui is a supporting character in the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen and the biological younger brother of Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer Mei Mei. Despite his young age, he possesses exceptional sorcery aptitude and functions primarily as a combat support partner for his sister. Defined by his complete devotion to Mei Mei, he directs his capabilities entirely toward serving her interests and supporting her in battle.
Appearance
Ui Ui is a short young boy with black eyes and short blue hair styled with side-swept bangs covering one side of his face. He wears a formal uniform shirt, suspender trousers, knee-high socks, and loafers. In depictions set decades later, he appears as an elderly man with white hair styled similarly to his older sister's.
Personality
Ui Ui is intensely devoted to his older sister, Mei Mei, viewing himself as her personal property and prioritizing her above all else. Because he refuses to leave any leftover food in front of her, he has no disliked foods, and he takes pleasure in managing her schedule. He experiences high stress when separated from her and displays cold hostility toward other males who get close to her.
Abilities
Ui Ui possesses an innate cursed technique that teleports targets over vast distances by covering them with a cloth, capable of traveling from Japan to Malaysia. He can also exchange the souls of consenting targets. In combat, he uses New Shadow Style: Simple Domain to neutralize enemy domain effects. His technique is governed by a binding restriction requiring Mei Mei's permission, and despite his small size, he can transport a large battle axe.
Background
During the Shibuya Incident, Ui Ui accompanied Mei Mei and Yuji Itadori, helping to neutralize a powerful cursed spirit inside its domain before teleporting his sister to Malaysia to avoid further danger. In the subsequent Shinjuku conflict, he provided essential aid by retrieving wounded allies from the battlefield and facilitating soul-swap training to enhance their capabilities. Later in life, he succeeded Atsuya Kusakabe as the head of the New Shadow Style.
Relationships
Ui Ui unconditionally adores his elder sister, Mei Mei, obeying her every direction and staying by her side. He initially showed hostility toward Yuji Itadori out of jealousy over his interactions with Mei Mei, but later supported him through soul-swap training. He worked closely with Atsuya Kusakabe and Kirara Hoshi in battle logistics, eventually taking over leadership of the New Shadow Style from Kusakabe.
Trivia
The name 'Ui Ui' is an alias rather than his birth name, mirroring his sister Mei Mei's use of a pseudonym. His specialty and personal hobby is managing his sister's daily schedule, and his favorite food is pisang goreng (fried bananas).
