Laru

Overview

Laru is a curse user who appears in the manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen as well as its prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Serving as one of the key commanders in the faction led by Suguru Geto, he is readily distinguished by his imposing muscular build, heart-shaped chest stickers, and gentle, feminine speech patterns. Despite belonging to a group of rogue sorcerers, Laru exhibits a deeply caring nature toward his allies, maintaining his loyalty to his comrades even long after Suguru Geto's passing and stepping into critical battles to support the sorcerers.

Appearance

Laru is a tall, extremely muscular man who fights with his upper body bare. On his chest, he wears a pair of pink, heart-shaped nipple stickers. He drapes a light-colored jacket loosely over his shoulders and wears a headband across his forehead. His lower outfit consists of dark pants tucked into dark boots.

Personality

Despite his formidable and muscular appearance, Laru maintains a calm, flamboyant, and warm demeanor, consistently speaking with feminine speech patterns. Within Suguru Geto's group, he acts as a motherly, protective figure who cares deeply for his companions. His motivations stem not from a broader ideological hatred or malice, but from an intense personal affection and unwavering loyalty toward Suguru Geto as an individual.

Abilities

Laru uses an Innate Technique known as Heart Catch. This power allows him to manifest a giant virtual hand that physically grabs and restrains targets from a distance. Beyond physical restraint, the technique can also target an opponent's mind, seizing their consciousness and forcing their attention onto him. During the battle in Shinjuku, he utilized this effect on Ryomen Sukuna to distract him, enabling Yuji Itadori to land a decisive blow.

Background

Laru initially joined the sorcerer underworld out of devotion to Suguru Geto, becoming a top commander in his faction during the events of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Following Suguru Geto's defeat, Laru parted ways with the remaining members of the group. However, he resurfaced during the climax of the story, joining the Shinjuku Showdown against Ryomen Sukuna to provide vital assistance to Yuji Itadori and the allied jujutsu sorcerers.

Relationships

Laru harbored deep affection and loyalty toward Suguru Geto, whom he addressed with warm familiarity. Within the faction, he formed a close, maternal bond with the twin sisters Mimiko Hasaba and Nanako Hasaba, acting as their caring guardian. During the battle against Ryomen Sukuna, he coordinated with Yuji Itadori, using his innate technique to compromise the king of curses and set up Yuji Itadori's strike.

Trivia

Laru's character design establishes a strong visual contrast by pairing a hyper-masculine, muscular frame with delicate heart-shaped chest accessories and feminine speech. His Innate Technique name, Heart Catch, directly reflects both his visual motif and his affectionate personality.
