Overview

Noritoshi Kamo is a supporting character in Jujutsu Kaisen. He is a third-year student at Kyoto Prefectural Jujutsu High School and a Semi-Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer. As the designated successor to the Kamo family—one of the three prominent sorcerer clans—he carries a profound sense of responsibility and pride. Known for his calm composure and pragmatic tactical mindset, he frequently takes on leadership roles among the Kyoto students. Although members of the elite clans typically do not need to attend Jujutsu High, he chose to enroll to prove his strength independently and honor his mother.

Appearance

Noritoshi Kamo is featured as a young man wearing traditional Japanese attire, distinguished by his long black hair, an M-shaped middle part with bound sideburns, and closed, squinting eyes that reveal a three-white-eyed appearance when opened. During the Culling Game arc, he cuts his front hair short. When activating the technique Flowing Red Scale, distinct red blood markings manifest across his face due to the internal manipulation of his blood.

Personality

Noritoshi is exceptionally calm, polite, and driven by a strict sense of duty toward traditional sorcery order. Despite his refined demeanor, he possesses a remarkably rigid and somewhat airheaded nature, often making earnest yet humorously out-of-touch remarks during tense situations. His core motivation stems from his deep affection for his mother, driving him to endure harsh lineage pressures so he can provide her a safe home. Although experiencing moments of despair when stripped of his status, he ultimately learns to abandon rigid expectations, choosing to prioritize the safety and happiness of his loved ones over clan obligations.

Abilities

He utilizes Blood Manipulation, an inherited technique of the Kamo clan that allows him to control his own blood, blood packs, and blood-stained objects with versatile balance across close, mid, and long ranges. His abilities include Flowing Red Scale to enhance physical traits and body control, Red Bind to restrain targets with blood ropes, and Karibarai to throw ring-shaped blood projectiles. His ultimate technique, Piercing Blood, fires blood compressed via Byakuren like a high-speed bullet. Furthermore, his blood inherently acts as a poison against cursed spirits, and he is a skilled instructor in fundamental blood control.

Background

Born to a concubine who was mistreated and driven away, Noritoshi was brought into the Kamo main branch as the nominal heir because the main wife produced no child with the inherited technique. He dedicated his life to taking over the clan to reunite with his mother. However, during the turmoil surrounding the Shibuya Incident, Kenjaku seized control of the Kamo family using the name Noritoshi Kamo, stripping him of his status. During the Culling Game's Sakurajima Colony, he fought alongside Maki Zen'in against the cursed spirit of Naoya Zen'in. Prompted by Maki to reconcile with his family, he later withdrew from the Shinjuku Showdown to move overseas with his mother and her new family.

Relationships

Noritoshi's actions are primarily driven by deep love for his mother, alongside a strong resentment toward his birth father and the harsh Kamo clan hierarchy. He maintains a strained dynamic with his classmate Aoi Todo, whose oddities often cause him stress. He views Megumi Fushiguro as a fellow sufferer of clan politics, though Megumi rebuffs his unsolicited camaraderie. During the Culling Game, Maki Zen'in helps him rethink his self-sacrificial mindset. He also serves as a helpful mentor to Yuji Itadori, giving him practical guidance on using Blood Manipulation for basic techniques such as stanching wounds.

Trivia

His given name shares the exact pronunciation with Noritoshi Kamo (加茂憲倫), known as the historic stain of the Kamo clan; his mother intentionally chose it as a quiet rebellion against the family. The author designed him with an Onmyoji-inspired aesthetic. His hobbies include studying, and he strives to score over 900 on the TOEIC. His favorite food is coffee, whereas he dislikes Southeast Asian cuisine.
