Overview
Mei Mei is a character from the manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. Formerly an assistant manager at Tokyo Jujutsu High, she operates as a freelance Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer and holds shares in multiple Japanese corporations. A senior to Gojo Satoru, she comes from a lineage of sorcerers, with "Mei Mei" being a pseudonym. She is defined by an absolute pragmatic mindset, viewing monetary worth as the ultimate measure of value.
Appearance
She is a tall woman with white hair, styled with long front bangs gathered into braids that hang down like a curtain over her face. During her student days, she wore her hair in a high ponytail with her forehead exposed. In battle, she wields a massive axe. Her attire includes a high-necked long-sleeved black dress featuring distinctive puffy Juliet sleeves.
Personality
Cool-headed and highly pragmatic, she operates strictly on financial motivation, famously treating wealth accumulation almost like a game. She despises taxes and cites counting banknotes as a personal interest. While unsentimental about monetary value, her clear logic makes her exceptionally grounded compared to typical sorcerers. She is accompanied by her devoted younger brother, Ui Ui, whom she manages with calm authority.
Abilities
Her innate technique, Black Bird Manipulation, allows her to command multiple crows and share their visual field, making her adept at reconnaissance and broadcasting imagery. To offset the inherent weakness of controlling ordinary birds, she heavily trained her body for physical combat using a large axe. Her ultimate move, Bird Strike, forces a crow to sacrifice its life to remove its cursed energy limit, turning it into a powerful kamikaze projectile.
Background
After graduating from Jujutsu High, she immediately established herself as an independent sorcerer. In her past, she worked alongside Iori Utahime and assisted Gojo Satoru's group. She later served as an impartial monitor during the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, subsequently recommending several students for Grade 1 promotion. During major crises, she relies on strategic judgment and evasive tactics to secure her survival and financial interests.
Relationships
She shares a long acquaintance with Gojo Satoru, Geto Suguru, Ieiri Shoko, and Iori Utahime, having held high regard for Geto during their younger days. Her younger brother, Ui Ui, shows absolute devotion toward her and assists in her combat operations. She also partnered with Todo Aoi to recommend prospective Grade 1 sorcerers.
Trivia
"Mei Mei" is an assumed name rather than her real name. Her favorite food is bak kut teh, and she has no disliked foods. Her primary source of stress is paying taxes.
