Nanako

Overview

Nanako Hasaba is a curse user in Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Jujutsu High. Alongside her twin sister Mimiko Hasaba, she belongs to Suguru Geto's faction. Profoundly devoted to Geto after he rescued them in their youth, she acts as a dedicated follower who will go to any length for his sake.

Appearance

Nanako features brown eyes and blonde hair styled in a topknot bun, wearing a gyaru-esque outfit consisting of a sailor uniform, a cream cardigan, loose socks, and leather shoes. During the Shibuya Incident, her side bangs are styled into vertical drill curls. She carries a smartphone housed in a lime-green rabbit-ear case. In her childhood, she was seen in a white sleeveless dress, and later wore a hoodie with a knee-length skirt, short white socks, and leather shoes.

Personality

Nanako has a assertive demeanor and speaks in a spunky, gyaru-like fashion. Her loyalty to Suguru Geto is absolute, accepting his stance without hesitation. She holds non-sorcerers in contempt, referring to them as "monkeys," and exhibits a cold, ruthless attitude toward targets in battle. Despite her brutal combat persona, she retains traits typical of a standard teenage girl.

Abilities

Nanako utilizes an innate technique channeled through her smartphone equipped with a lime-green rabbit-ear case. By targeting subjects through the device's camera, she can launch attacks or nullify damage she recently took. She can also briefly teleport photographed targets over short distances to evade incoming threats.

Background

Imprisoned and abused by the inhabitants of their native village due to their sorcerer abilities, Nanako and her sister were freed by Suguru Geto during a mission in 2007. They subsequently joined his group as curse users. Following Geto's demise and the events of the Shibuya Incident, the twins sought to reclaim Geto's stolen body from an impostor, attempting to leverage Ryomen Sukuna's revival, which ultimately led to a tragic outcome.

Relationships

She operates alongside her twin sister, Mimiko Hasaba. She reveres Suguru Geto as her savior, addressing him with absolute devotion. Within Geto's faction, she gets along with Miguel and Larue, though her relationship with Manami Suda and Toshihisa Negi is more strained. She harbors deep hostility toward the entity controlling Geto's body.

Trivia

The names of Nanako and her sister Mimiko are derived from characters in the Japanese horror film One Missed Call. Additionally, their Japanese voice actresses, Satsumi Matsuda and Risae Matsuda, are real-life twin sisters.
