Kechizu

Overview

Kechizu is a Special Grade Cursed Spirit featured in Jujutsu Kaisen. Created by the historical sorcerer Kamo Noritoshi as part of the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings, he is the youngest of the three brothers who materialized into physical vessels. As a hybrid born between a cursed spirit and a human, he fights alongside his older brothers, Choso and Eso.

Appearance

Kechizu possesses a blue-green mutated body. Because his power as a cursed object was relatively weak, the upper half of his face still retains human features from his vessel. His lower region features a large, gaping mouth with visible teeth, and blood leaks continuously from his eyes, nose, and mouth.

Personality

Despite his grotesque monstrous form, Kechizu demonstrates deep affection and strong loyalty toward his older brothers, placing immense value on his familial bonds.

Abilities

Kechizu attacks by spewing large amounts of highly toxic blood over a wide area. Although he lacks a distinct innate cursed technique of his own, his poisonous blood acts as a catalyst to trigger and enhance the Rot Technique used by his older brother Eso.

Background

Stored for generations as the third unit of the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings created by Kamo Noritoshi, Kechizu was stolen from Jujutsu High by Mahito and subsequently incarnated. Sent with Eso to retrieve one of Sukuna's fingers at Yasohachi Bridge, he engaged in combat against Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki. After sustaining massive damage from a Black Flash attack, he was ultimately exorcised by Nobara's Straw Doll Technique: Hairpin.

Relationships

He was created by Kamo Noritoshi and regards Choso as his eldest brother and Eso as his second older brother, holding both in high esteem. Through the nature of the Death Paintings, he also shares a blood connection with Yuji Itadori.

Trivia

His name is derived from Kechizuso, one of the nine stages of bodily decay depicted in traditional Buddhist Death Painting poetry and artwork.
