Appearance
Nareko has long blue hair in a hime cut with blunt bangs, bound at the lower lengths with multiple gold ornaments. She has blue eyes, a triangular facial mark beneath her eye, and key-shaped earrings. Her headpiece is a rounded crown featuring abstract Dousojin statue motifs. Her explorer-style attire consists of a brown short-sleeved jacket with a large Nemes-style collar, brown shorts with a belt, black socks detailing O and X patterns near the top, and brown boots. She wields a golden scepter displaying question mark and O/X designs.
Personality
Having spent ages stationed at the subterranean altar without any activity inside or out, Nareko suffers from intense boredom. Desperate for engagement, she adopts the role of a riddle-giver. When visitors finally appear, her excitement causes her to completely forget her initial duty as she eagerly jumps into battle and challenges them with eccentric riddles.
Abilities
Nareko possesses the ability to block paths. This power is utilized to restrict passage and ensure that nothing escapes from inside the pyramid structure situated at the underground altar.
Background
Originally created long ago by Chimi Houjuu to guard against the entity within the underground pyramid known as Senganjouesan, Nareko eventually awakened to self-awareness. Left at the subterranean altar by ancients to prevent anything from exiting the site, she spent countless quiet years with no traffic occurring. Bored of waiting, she took inspiration from the legendary Sphinx to turn away visitors using puzzling questions. During the events of the game, she mistakes the protagonists for non-humans due to their stone powers, engaging them in fight while continuing her standing guard duty.
Relationships
She was created by Chimi Houjuu, who served as her creator.
Trivia
Although her theme incorporates heavy visual and thematic elements of Egypt and the Sphinx, her narrative context is ultimately unrelated to Egyptian mythology. Overseas fans frequently associate her surname's spelling ("Michigami") with the US state of Michigan as a lighthearted nickname.
