Sunny Milk

Overview

Sunny Milk is a character from the Touhou Project series. Representing sunlight, she serves as the leader and primary instigator of the group known as the Three Fairies of Light, alongside Luna Child and Star Sapphire. Featured prominently in works such as the Touhou Sangetsusei manga series, she acts as the central figure driving the trio's daily misadventures.

Appearance

Sunny Milk's visual design is tied together with a warm color scheme. She has medium-length, orange-tinted blonde hair tied into a two-side-up style with red ribbons, adorned with a white headdress on top of her head. She features blue eyes and is frequently depicted with a snaggletooth. Her outfit consists of a long-sleeved white blouse with wide sleeves, a red long skirt, a yellow ribbon around her neck, and a red sash wrapped at her waist. She possesses four wings shaped like bamboo leaves.

Personality

Sunny Milk has a bright, cheerful, and highly energetic disposition. Though her boisterous demeanor can make her appear foolish, she is actually the most clever of the Three Fairies of Light, serving as the planner behind their schemes. However, owing to her reckless fairy nature, most of the elaborate pranks she devises ultimately end in comical failure.

Abilities

Sunny Milk possesses the ability to refract light, allowing her to bend light rays at will. She utilizes this power to turn invisible like optical camouflage, disorient people with optical illusions, deflect light projectiles, and observe angles outside normal sight lines. She can also alter how passersby perceive their environment, causing them to fall off cliffs or into rivers. Bathing in sunlight restores her strength, and her control over a large-scale phenomenon makes her more powerful than standard fairies. However, rainy weather renders her refraction easily noticeable, breaking her cover.

Background

As part of the Three Fairies of Light, Sunny Milk originally resided inside a hollow tree within the Forest of Magic. She later relocated her home to a large tree behind the Hakurei Shrine. Serving as a main character throughout the Touhou Sangetsusei series, she creates numerous minor incidents and also appears as a boss character in the game Great Fairy Wars.

Relationships

Sunny Milk works closely with Luna Child and Star Sapphire, her fellow members of the Three Fairies of Light, acting as the ringleader of their group. She frequently targets Reimu Hakurei with her pranks, only to be promptly beaten back every time. Conversely, she holds Marisa Kirisame in high regard due to the assistance and interactions they frequently share.
