Encore

Overview

Encore is a playable Resonator originating from the New Federation in Wuthering Waves, serving as a consultant for the international research organization known as the Black Shores. Characterized by her cheerful, lively, and whimsical demeanor, she views her life and friendships through the lens of fairy tales and imaginative adventures. Accompanied by her floating sheep familiars, Cosmos and Cloudy, she travels the world to turn every experience into a happy story. In combat, she acts as a primary Fusion-attribute damage dealer using an Amplifier.

Appearance

Encore has long, fluffy pink curly hair styled into low waist-length twintails with a white hair strand and a noticeable cowlick. A large pink hair bow attached to the upper back of her head resembles cat ears when viewed from the front. She features thick eyebrows and blue eyes containing pink cross-shaped pupils. Her Tacet Mark is vertically located on her exposed upper back, while a black flower ornament is worn on her right outer ankle. Her outfit consists of a loose white, black, and pink backless dress with detached sleeves, bloomers, a waist pouch, and large earrings. Sheep horns manifest on her head during her Resonance Liberation.

Personality

Encore is energetic, optimistic, and deeply imaginative. She processes the world around her by conceptualizing everyday occurrences, acquaintances, and enemies as characters in fable-like fairy tales. Friendly and outgoing, she quickly warms up to strangers without hesitation. She treats her sheep familiars as living companions—attributing the roles of a brave knight to Cosmos and a pure princess to Cloudy. Unfazed by dangerous monsters, she faces combat with an adventurous spirit. She also possesses a quirky side, often attempting to serve bizarre homemade dishes to her friends.

Abilities

Encore is an innate Resonator who channels Fusion damage through an Amplifier using her Resonance Ability, Wooly Playmates. Powered by her childlike imagination, she summons her floating familiars, Cosmos (Black Wooly) and Cloudy (White Wooly), to fire high-temperature rays and command intense flames. Her Resonance Liberation, Cosmos Rampage, transforms her long-range attacks into rapid melee strikes, boosting her interrupt resistance and reducing incoming damage. By building up her Disorder meter during combat, she can unleash a devastating heavy attack that triggers a massive area-of-effect Fusion explosion.

Background

Born in the New Federation, Encore grew up watching her mother perform fairy tale plays. Following her mother's passing from illness, Encore heard her sheep plushies speak at the funeral, drawing her to an abandoned theater where her grief and imagination awakened her Resonator powers. She was subsequently placed in an orphanage, where she later manifested her flame abilities during a crisis to protect the other children. While recovering from this incident, she met the Black Shores consultant Aalto, leading to her recruitment into the organization as a consultant embarking on new adventures.

Relationships

Encore shares a close, comedic partnership with Aalto, whom she affectionately calls "Uncle Aalto" while relying on him as a guardian and companion. She warms up quickly to the Rover, addressing them as an elder sibling figure. She maintains a fond friendship with Verina, who once treated her after Encore accidentally consumed a poisonous mushroom, often playing pretend together. Additionally, she receives assignments and tasks from the Shorekeeper, her supervisor within the Black Shores organization.

Trivia

Her name "Encore" derives from the theatrical and musical call for an artist to return to the stage, directly tying into her late mother's theatrical background. In-game, her head bow is deliberately shaped to mimic cat ears from a frontal view. She is also known for cooking a bizarre dish called the Coral Revolution Bowl, which emits an ominous purple aura despite being edible.
