Overview

Verina is a playable 5-star Spectro character in the game Wuthering Waves who wields a Rectifier. Originating from the New Federation and currently based in Jinzhou, she serves as a dedicated botanist and breeder alongside exploration teams in the Pioneer Association. Despite her youthful appearance, she possesses extensive botanical knowledge and a mature sense of responsibility, using her unique capabilities to support her allies and care for the surrounding environment.

Appearance

She is a petite girl with soft, long blonde hair styled into twintails, and big bright green eyes. She wears a green hairband decorated with ribbons and a hair flower, alongside a choker around her neck. Her outfit consists of a leafy, sleeveless green mini dress over white shorts, accompanied by white fingerless gloves, leg covers, and green-laced shoes. Her Tacet Mark is positioned just below her collarbone, and woody vines naturally root around her ears and spine due to her Resonance ability.

Personality

She is gentle, highly empathetic, and frequently smiles. However, when it comes to botany, she adheres strictly to scientific truth and becomes extremely passionate and thorough when teaching others. She works tirelessly without complaint during tough expeditions and tends to observe people by comparing them to various plant species. Although she occasionally experiences feelings of loneliness due to being separated from her parents, she gains strength from the resilience of nature and remains determined to live independently.

Abilities

She possesses a rare congenital Resonance ability known as Nature's Tuner, working in tandem with the vines rooted in her body to convert and amplify frequencies. She can perceive the voices and frequencies of plants and has an extraordinarily low risk of Overclocking. In battle, she manages a unique gauge called Photosynthetic Energy, generated via her skill or final basic attack, and expends it to enhance her heavy or mid-air strikes. She provides immediate team-wide healing, applies a mark through her Resonance Liberation that triggers coordinated attacks and ongoing healing when allies strike the target, and boosts overall team damage upon exiting via Outro Skill.

Background

Having learned botany from her parents early in life, she was later separated from them and joined an exploration team under the Pioneer Association, eventually arriving in Jinzhou. Initially quiet and independent, she bonded deeply with her comrades after forcefully educating them on toxic mushrooms to prevent an accidental poisoning. Driven by a desire to preserve memories, she works on breeding flowers that bloom longer to honor fallen soldiers and convey heartfelt emotions. Through her experiences in Jinzhou and interactions with its people, she continues to grow into a resilient practitioner of her craft.

Relationships

She shares a strong bond of trust with Riggs and her exploration team members, who look after her warmly. She counts Yangyang and Chixia among her close friends, often spending her days off with them, and acts attentively toward Encore, whom she once rescued from eating poisonous mushrooms. She also maintains thoughtful connections with figures like Baizhi, Mortefi, and Calcharo, observing their personalities through her plant-inspired perspectives and treating them with care and respect.

Trivia

Believing that no two people are identical just as no two leaves are the same, she records stories of the people she meets alongside her plant research in her field journal. She treasures a broken pair of observation goggles, a bloom retrieved from her first field trip, and her mother's notebook. According to a local story, she once planted orchids on a mountain late at night and eventually transformed the entire slope into a flourishing field of flowers.
