Yinlin

Overview

Yinlin is an Electro-attribute Resonator in the open-world action game Wuthering Waves. Originating from Jinzhou, she is a former Patroller of the Public Security Bureau who currently operates in the shadows to investigate hidden crimes. In combat, she utilizes a Rectifier weapon alongside a specialized mechanical puppet.

Appearance

Yinlin features long red hair tied in a high ponytail, styled with an M-shaped fringe, asymmetrical side locks, and blunt-cut ends. She has purple eyes accompanied by a facial mole, as well as pointed ears. Her outfit consists of a backless, sleeveless traditional-style Jinzhou dress with a high side-slit, paired with long elbow gloves and high heels. Decorative elements include hairpins, a headband, and earrings. Her Tacet Mark is located on the outer side of her left thigh.

Personality

On the surface, Yinlin presents herself as an aloof, captivating, and shrewd investigator who uses deceit to gain the trust of suspects. Beneath her flamboyant exterior lies a resilient and genuinely kind heart driven by a deep sense of justice. In contrast to her sharp professional persona, she can be quite relaxed and lazy in private, relying on her puppet to handle domestic tasks. She is meticulous, cautious, and accustomed to working alone.

Abilities

Yinlin possesses an Electro Resonator ability known as Chastising Puppet, allowing her to generate and control electric threads. She commands a modified mechanical puppet named Zapstring in battle to unleash Electro damage across the field. Her combat style involves binding enemies with lightning chains, marking targets with debuffs that trigger automated lightning strikes, and boosting Electro attacks for her team.

Background

After her parents—both distinguished Patrollers—died in the line of duty, Yinlin was raised by their former colleague, Yanshi. She followed in her parents' footsteps and joined the Public Security Bureau. Upon discovering that Yanshi was founding a dangerous organization to revive the deceased as puppets, she chose to thwart his plans with the help of the Rover. Though Yanshi erased her official Patroller records prior to his arrest, she remains dedicated to protecting Jinzhou from dark organizations like the Fractsidus.

Relationships

Yinlin shares a strong bond of trust with the Rover, frequently collaborating with them during complex covert missions. She holds her former junior at the Public Security Bureau, Chixia, in high regard. She maintained a complicated relationship with her guardian Yanshi, ultimately arresting him when his actions strayed into crime. She also maintains contact with former informants such as Lao Lei.

Trivia

Yinlin's favorite food is Golden Fried Rice. She enjoys traditional puppetry and has performed puppet shows at public festivals. She carries a magnifying glass issued during her early days at the Public Security Bureau as a keepsake of her parents, and uses a disguised fashion lookbook to transmit encrypted covert communications.
