Jinhsi

Overview

Jinhsi is a playable character in the action role-playing game Wuthering Waves. Serving as the Magistrate of Jinzhou, a major city-state within the nation of Huanglong, she holds the highest political authority in her region while bearing the immense responsibility of protecting her people. As the Resonator bound to the Sentinel dragon Jué, she fights using a Broadblade infused with the Spectro element. Despite her youth, she is revered as a composed, compassionate, and dedicated leader who works tirelessly to guide humanity toward a peaceful future.

Appearance

Jinhsi is a young teenage girl with long white hair featuring cyan gradient tips, neat straight bangs, twintails, and ring braids. She has silver eyes and wears a sleeveless dress paired with over-knee boots, alongside hair ornaments, ribbons, and earrings. Her Tacet Mark is located along the center of her back. When utilizing her resonance abilities or sensing Jué, dragon-like crystalline horns appear on her head. Additionally, dragon scales manifest across her body during heavy exertion, severe injury, or flustered moments of embarrassment.

Personality

Jinhsi is defined by her calm composure, gentle nature, and selfless devotion to Jinzhou. She silently carries her citizens' hardships without complaint, enacting compassionate policies and resolving municipal issues with remarkable efficiency. Despite her grave responsibilities, she exhibits endearing habits, such as eating mint and perilla Xiaolongbao to stay energized during demanding winter workloads. She harbors profound trust and warm romantic affection for the Rover, often becoming flustered and growing tiny scales in their presence.

Abilities

Jinhsi wields the resonance power "Cold Fades, Spring Blooms," manipulating pale light synchronized with the Sentinel Jué to alter natural phenomena and potentially affect time itself. Combat-wise, she uses a Broadblade for four-hit physical sequences and enters the airborne "Incarnation" state using her Resonance Skill. In this mode, she carries out aerial maneuvers and unleashes the explosive technique "Illuminous Epiphany" by expending accumulated "Unison" energy. Her Resonance Liberation unleashes wide-area Spectro damage. Her spectrum remains exceptionally stable, presenting virtually no threat of Overclocking.

Background

In her infancy on Mt. Firmament, Jinhsi lost her life during a Tacet Discord invasion but was resurrected over seven days by the Sentinel Jué. Jué prophesied that she would become its Resonator and Magistrate of Jinzhou, leading her to adopt the name Jinhsi upon taking office. Later, when the Fractsidus wounded Jué, threatening temporal devastation across Jinzhou, Jué intended to freeze the region's time indefinitely. Jinhsi refused this sacrifice, challenging Jué to a trial of combat to induce a Second Resonance. She successfully inherited Jué's temporal authority, stabilizing time and preserving her homeland.

Relationships

Jinhsi feels immense gratitude toward Jué, regarding the dragon deity as her savior and guide. She relies on her teacher Changli for counsel and maintains close working relationships with her assistant Sanhua, administrator Taoqi, and general Jiyan. She shares a deep, emotional connection with the Rover, trusting them entirely and harboring genuine affection forged through prophetic dreams and shared destiny.

Trivia

Her official English name "Jinhsi" uniquely combines standard Pinyin ("Jin") with Wade-Giles romanization ("hsi"). She holds the distinction of being the first character to receive a premium Collector's outfit, named "Peach Blossom." Because both Jinhsi and her mentor Changli display affectionate feelings toward the Rover, the pair inspired a widely shared fan meme known as "Snow Mountain Chasing Husband." Furthermore, her treasure chest interaction voice lines were specially updated in later game patches when opening chests outside of Jinzhou.
