Overview

Lupa is a 5-star Resonator featuring in Wuthering Waves, hailing from Septimont within Rinascita. Renowned as a star gladiator, she fights with the Fusion attribute and wields a Broadblade. Possessing raw talent and a fierce, vibrant spirit, she thrives in the arena, driven by a deep love for absolute competition and the thrill of unleashing her power in combat.

Appearance

Lupa features gradient twintails shifting from deep red at the roots to pink at the tips, paired with golden eyes and a visible canine tooth. She wears a black-and-white sleeveless bodysuit beneath a red cape, accessorized with a black hairband featuring movable ear-like mechanisms. Her outfit is completed with over-the-knee high-heeled boots, earrings, and a wolf tail attached at her waist. Her Tacet Mark is positioned on the left side of her torso. She wields a red-and-white broadblade styled like a flag-spear with a wolf graphic. Upon activating her Resonance Liberation, her mechanical ears spring up, and her cape and tail are engulfed in blazes.

Personality

Energetic, straight-talking, and wild, Lupa is passionate about pure athletic pursuit and combat. Rather than dwelling on standard outcomes, she prioritizes the heartbeat of the fight and the atmosphere of the arena. She moves forward without worrying about how others perceive her, offering deep trust to those she considers partners. Despite her aggressive combat nature, she displays a defenseless side around trusted allies—such as easily falling asleep while having her tail groomed. She dislikes static electricity building up in her tail during winter and enjoys relaxing in hot springs after training.

Abilities

Her Resonance Ability, Fierce Roar of Devouring Fire, allows her to manipulate flames and track enemies with wolf-like senses, dealing Fusion DMG. By generating Wolf Flame, she converts it into Wolf Soul to trigger empowered Heavy Attacks such as Wolf Bite, Sharp Claw, and Flame Raid. Her Resonance Skill hurls a flag to mark targets with Hunting, enabling follow-up strikes via Ferocious Bite. Her Resonance Liberation grants the Hunt effect to the team, boosting ATK, Fusion DMG, and permitting automatic recovery from knockbacks. Under maximum stacks, she enters a specialized relentless state, executing powerful finisher moves and delivering coordinated off-field assistance.

Background

Born in a small village, Lupa awakened her fire-manipulating Resonance early in life before moving to Septimont with her parents. She gained fame as a gladiator under the Silva family, but left after discovering match-fixing and internal betrayal. While fleeing their agents, she encountered the Rover and formed a new combat team to enter the championship. During her journey, she became trapped in a looped artificial domain crafted by the Fractsidus, where a Tacet Discord attempted to erase her identity and substitute her with a past champion named Mia. Sustained by a frequency left by Cartesia and her bond with the Rover, Lupa defeated the corrupted entity in duel and broke the cycle.

Relationships

Lupa forms a tight partnership with the Rover, affectionately calling them her partner and trusting them completely through thick and thin in the arena. She received crucial help from Cartesia, who left behind a frequency that allowed Lupa to retain her true self amidst an identity-erasing anomaly. She cut ties with her former patron, Yulia Silva of the Silva family, after standing up against corrupt arena practices. Additionally, she holds deep respect for the legacy of Mia, a gladiator from twenty years prior, ultimately honoring her memory by bringing her sword back to Septimont.

Trivia

The name Lupa is derived from the she-wolf deity of Roman mythology, as well as the Latin feminine form for wolf. Her home region of Septimont is modeled after the historic Seven Hills of Rome.
