Mornye

Overview

Mornye is a 5-star Fusion Broadblade Resonator in Wuthering Waves. Originating from the New Federation, she serves as a professor at Startorch Academy in Lahairoi and a scholar at the Spacetrek Research Institute. Though highly intelligent and hyper-rational, she is soft-spoken and clumsy with words. Driven by extraordinary determination, she seeks to transcend the boundaries of space and time to touch the vast beauty of the world.

Appearance

Mornye has long silver hair approaching white, with right-side bangs secured by two simple triangular hairpins, and red eyes. A halo-like device floats above her head, and her Tacet Mark is located on her left thigh. She wears a white coat over a garment decorated with a black and violet-blue gradient reminiscent of a starry night sky. Her legs are replaced with transparent prosthetics that feature glowing crystalline textures inside. She also possesses an alternate coat outfit called Soft Dreams, featuring a warm beige trench-coat design and snowflake patterns inside her prosthetics.

Personality

Mornye possesses an intensely logical mind. She views birthdays simply as an increase in entropy and efficiently consumes energy gels combining multiple flavors rather than traditional meals. Due to childhood trauma, she spent years maintaining a quiet distance from others, yet she harbors intense passion and genuine warmth under her cold exterior. She holds deep affection for the Rover, whom she addresses as Senpai, treasuring the time spent by their side.

Abilities

Mornye fights using a broadblade. Her Resonance Ability, Construct of Stars, enables her to precisely manipulate internal machinery components within a 20-meter radius, provided she has completely analyzed their structure, projecting holographic control screens. In battle, she scales off her Defense stat to provide healing, teamwide damage buffs, and anomaly accumulation support. She can enter a mid-air Wide-Area Observation Mode and grant allies a protective buff that limits massive damage and prevents a single lethal hit.

Background

Born in the New Federation, Mornye suffered a debilitating injury during childhood. After joining Startorch Academy, the awakening of her Resonance Ability propelled her to become a renowned professor. Meeting the Rover inspired her to break free from her isolation. Following a research accident, she equipped self-designed transparent prosthetics that restored her mobility. She played a key role in the Sun-Swapping Ceremony by launching the artificial sun Helios, successfully bringing a projected starry sky to underground Lahairoi.

Relationships

Mornye knew the Rover prior to their memory loss, addressing them as Senpai with deep devotion and trust; her habit of pinning back her bangs stems from a past remark by them. She shares a close working relationship with Linne, with whom she witnessed the birth of the new sun. She also maintains high regard for past scholars such as Chisaki and works under her superior Rosera at the institute.

Trivia

Mornye is historically celebrated in Lahairoi for projecting constellations and the moon onto the ceiling of the underground realm. While in her aerial mode, she can initiate a rapid forward flight across terrain and water. Her signature weapon is Star Calibrator, and her ideal Echo Sonata set is Starbright Ring.
