Overview

Phrolova is a character in Wuthering Waves who serves as an Overseer within the Fractsidus organization under the title of Conductor. Operating as a Havoc-attribute Resonator who wields an Amplifier, she is a quiet and melancholic figure who composes melodies between life and death to construct her vision of a perfect world.

Appearance

Phrolova has grey-green hair styled into twin braids with straight bangs. Her right eye is hidden under a white bandage, concealing heterochromatic eyes, while her left eye is light grey with a red pupil. She wears a black fitted dress beneath a red-and-white off-the-shoulder dress decorated with red spider lily motifs and a laced back. Her arm design is asymmetrical, featuring a star-shaped Tacet Mark and crossed red cords on her left upper arm, with bandages on her left forearm. Her waist is adorned with V-shaped hanging belts and a pouch over a dark grey pleated miniskirt with petal-like red cloth extensions, paired with black tights marked by thin red vertical lines and thigh rings.

Personality

Phrolova is a quiet and melancholic perfectionist who exhibits an intense devotion to her music and vision of an ideal world. Indifferent to public perception, she maintains a detached composure forged by centuries of repeated failure. Despite her hardened resolve, she hesitates to sever all ties, often leaving behind subtle embers of hope for others. She holds a distinct aesthetic perspective, finding harmony in structural balance such as counterpoint fugues, and possesses unique tastes, enjoying intensely sour redcurrants while disliking smoked meats.

Abilities

Awakened at the moment of her death as a mutated semi-Tacet Discord Resonator, Phrolova is an immortal being with suspended aging whose body rapidly regenerates skin damage in six seconds and internal organ damage within fifteen to eighteen minutes. Her Resonance ability, Symphony of Overlapping Worlds, allows her to comprehend and retune frequencies to induce silence or frenzy while maintaining full control over extreme overclock states. In battle, she refrains from direct physical combat, using a durable red spider lily baton to summon and command Tacet Discords such as Hecate, while also possessing the ability to drag others into her dream space or open portals to the Underworld.

Background

Centuries ago, Phrolova was a talented violinist in a quiet village aspiring to become a conductor. After leaving home for a concert trip following an unresolved quarrel with her mother, a meteor hit her village, destroying it entirely. Awakening her Resonance at the moment of death, Phrolova became immortal and absorbed the reverberations of her fallen kin into her right eye. She spent centuries seeking ways to resurrect her people, clinging to a promise made with the Rover to attend her performances. After the Rover lost their memories and failed to return, a despairing Phrolova accepted an invitation to join the Fractsidus as an Overseer to bring forth the Shores of Loss.

Relationships

Phrolova harbors a complex obsession with the Rover, with whom she shared an unfulfilled promise from centuries past. Among her Fractsidus peers, she holds strong contempt for Scar, viewing him as a vulgar madman, and treats Christopher with cold critique. She respected the Fractsidus Leader's formidable presence within a pragmatic relationship of mutual utilization before ultimately departing the group to follow her own path. Additionally, she holds admiration for Cartesia and shared a gentle connection with Danya, playing the violin for her during her containment.

Trivia

Phrolova's name stems from a Russian surname rooted in a Greek word meaning shining. Her visual design heavily incorporates the red spider lily, a flower symbolic of death. Due to her Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita being famous as the voice provider for Hatsune Miku, online fan communities frequently created memes replacing her baton with a green onion. In-game lore notes reveal her unusual culinary tastes, detailing how she modified a honey cake recipe with sour berries, only for a aquatic creature to reject it. Prior to her playable debut, a promotional event featured a mock corporate site titled PHRO GAMES parodying the developer's brand.
