Lynae

Overview

Lynae is a character from Wuthering Waves who attends the Preparatory Program at Lahairoi Startorch Academy. Living a free-spirited student life, she immerses herself in graffiti art, high-speed motorcycle rides, and music. Behind her bright demeanor lies a past as a mercenary in the conflict zones of the Neo-Union. In combat, she utilizes Spectro-element pistols to provide versatile combat buffs and exceptional mobility, dedicated to protecting the peaceful academic environment she earned.

Appearance

Lynae is a tall young woman with blue eyes and long blonde hair adorned with a skull-shaped hairpiece and a hanging mint-green star ornament. Her Tacet Mark is located on the back of her left thigh. She wears headphones and a necklace around her neck. Her attire consists of a long-sleeved white shirt with a green tie, featuring a silver Startorch Academy medallion emblem on the right chest. A coat with a chime charm is attached to her shoulder belt. Multiple belts secure a student ID at her waist and a spray can holster on her right thigh. She wears a black long skirt over short pants, completed by black socks and black roller boots.

Personality

Lynae is unrestrained and guided by curiosity, thoroughly enjoying her independence. Though frequently skipping classes to tune machinery or work on personal projects—earning her a reputation as a slacker—she actually maintains high academic performance and frequently contributes to volunteer work. She harbors a severe aversion to quiet, relying on constant music through her headphones to shield herself from traumatic memories of her mercenary past. She deeply cherishes her current peaceful routine and is protective of the place she considers home.

Abilities

Through her Resonance Ability, Prismatic Color, Lynae manipulates light wavelengths via spray cans to mix and project intangible, vivid spectral pigments into mid-air. She can also distort surrounding light and wave frequencies to render herself completely invisible to sensors and sight. In battle, she wields Spectro-attribute pistols with high agility, capable of performing triple air jumps. She operates as a powerful buffer within the Discord System, granting multi-layered damage boosts to her team while utilizing roller boots for high-speed mobility and stealth capabilities.

Background

Originally a mercenary in the conflict zones of the Neo-Union, she discovered the remains of a deceased student holding an acceptance letter to Startorch Academy. Yearning for a free life, she underwent plastic surgery to adopt the girl's appearance and assumed her identity as Lynae. Upon learning that the original student was actually a Fractsidus agent intent on causing terrorism, she worked behind the scenes to foil the plot. When her forged identity was eventually exposed, a massive Voidworm attacked the academy. She fought alongside the Rover to defeat the creature, ultimately earning the opportunity to take the entrance exam lawfully and embark on her own genuine life.

Relationships

Lynae shares a close and trusting relationship with the Rover, addressing them affectionately and enjoying peaceful academy days together. The Rover stood by her during the Voidworm threat, supporting her transition toward living authentically. She is also friends with Sigrika and maintains warm connections across the student body. Moving past the shadow of the Fractsidus spy whose identity she appropriated, she is recognized and valued by her peers for who she truly is.

Trivia

Lynae's customized motorcycle features unconventional modifications, including a ramen cooker, a fireworks launcher, and a portable hang-glider. A custom paint design for her bike, titled Goodbye to Yesterday, depicts her pre-surgery appearance on the left side and her current post-surgery face on the right. Her character theme song, Throttle Up!, includes lyrics that evolve alongside her story, reflecting her shift from questioning her self-worth to fully accepting her identity.
