Overview
Youhu is a 4-star playable Glacio Resonator in Wuthering Waves who wields Gauntlets in battle. Originating from Zhouzhou in Huanglong, she works as a prodigy antique appraiser, archaeologist, and collector, frequently operating a small appraisal stall on the streets of Jinzhou. In combat, she functions as a support character capable of healing allies and amplifying coordinated attack damage, all while bringing a unique charm to artifact evaluation.
Appearance
Youhu is a young girl with blue hair and blue eyes. Her hairstyle features double buns paired with short twintails, an M-shaped fringe, an ahoge, side braids, and hair decorations including a flower. She has a visible single fang. Her clothing consists of a sleeveless outfit exposing her shoulders, black gloves, bloomers, short boots, and a thigh strap. She wears a ruyi ring pendant, and her Tacet Mark is located on her left upper arm.
Personality
Youhu is highly articulate, energetic, and expressive, with clearly defined likes and dislikes. She enjoys presenting her appraisal results through playful doggerel poems; however, when confronted with genuine ancient relics, her lively demeanor transforms into quiet concentration as she senses the historical memories within. She values genuine human connection and respect for artifacts far above financial profit, and she uses clever tricks to pressure unscrupulous merchants into returning stolen relics to their rightful places.
Abilities
Youhu utilizes the Resonance Ability Frost Creation, allowing her to resonate with antique frequencies and produce miniature ice replicas from her chest. Wielding Gauntlets, she delivers physical and Glacio attacks, including her charged heavy attack. Her Resonance Skill, Tales from the Box, restores party health while performing a divination that awards a random fortune—Chime, Ruyi, Tripod, or Mask—each granting unique combat properties such as high stagger, high damage, or crowd control. Her Forte Circuit triggers a powerful heavy attack when four Omens are gathered, applying distinct bonuses like enhanced healing or increased skill damage depending on the rhetorical combination of Omens. Her Outro Skill deepens the coordinated attack damage of the next incoming party member.
Background
Born in a Huanglong port town into a family of appraisers, Youhu demonstrated her innate connection to relics during her first birthday ritual by reaching for her family's heirloom ruyi ring. Raised under the guidance of her master Chenpi, her peaceful life was disrupted at age seven when plunderers raided the port and stole countless artifacts, including her family heirloom. Years later, having repaired the shattered ruyi ring using her ice abilities, she runs a budget appraisal stall in Jinzhou while traveling to recover stolen relics. During one of her investigations into uncataloged artifacts, she joins the Rover and Yangyang to explore Guixu Port.
Relationships
Chenpi serves as Youhu's master and mentor, acknowledging her sharp intuition and natural appraisal talents. She collaborates with the Rover and Yangyang while investigating stray artifacts in Guixu Port linked to the Black Shores. She also shares a common origin with Chouyuan.
Trivia
Her name Youhu references ceramic glaze (you), used to determine the age and quality of porcelain, and coral (hu), which corresponds to her character ascension material. The names of her skill mechanics draw directly from classical Chinese artifact types—such as chimes, ruyi, tripods, and masks—as well as traditional rhetorical devices like antithesis and punning. Additionally, triggering her Outro Skill 100 times unlocks the achievement Da Kai Men, a real-world antique term indicating an artifact of indisputable authenticity.
