Anko features purple hair tied back into a ponytail, brown eyes, and wears a forehead protector. In her later years, her continuous consumption of sweets results in a noticeably plumper, heavier body build.

Background
In her youth, Anko studied under Orochimaru, who branded her with the Cursed Seal of Heaven before defecting from the village. During the Chunin Exams, she confronted her former master in the Forest of Death but was defeated. Later, she tracked Kabuto Yakushi alongside Yamato and Sai. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, she led a reconnaissance team but was captured by Kabuto, who exploited her Cursed Seal until Uchiha Sasuke extracted Orochimaru from it, freeing her. Following the war, she became a Ninja Academy teacher.
Relationships
Orochimaru is her former master, toward whom she harbored intense resentment and a desire to eliminate after his betrayal. She collaborated with Sai and Yamato during the search for Kabuto Yakushi. In her years as an Academy instructor, she frequently bonds with Akimichi Chocho over sweet snacks, and she once shared drinks and discussed diplomatic matters with Terumi Mei during a school trip.
Trivia
Her name derives from traditional Japanese sweets, specifically mitarashi dango and red bean paste (anko). Her personal hobby is enjoying tea, and she famously demonstrated her skill by throwing dango skewers into a tree trunk to form the symbol of Konohagakure.
