Yamanaka Ino is a supporting character from the manga and anime series NARUTO. As a kunoichi of Konohagakure, she is a member of Team Asuma (Team 10) alongside her teammates Nara Shikamaru and Akimichi Choji, together carrying on the generational Ino-Shika-Cho trio in which she represents the boar. While frequently assisting at her family business, the Yamanaka Flower Shop, she demonstrated top-tier academic marks during her academy days. In the later narrative and its continuation, BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS, she rises to the rank of Jonin. Alongside managing the flower store, she serves as a pivotal leading figure in Konohagakure's sensory division.

Appearance

In early depictions, Ino features pale blonde hair styled into a long ponytail, which she temporarily cut short with a kunai during the Chunin Exams and covered with cloth in a bun. By Part II, her long ponytail returns alongside bangs covering one eye and a deeper yellow-gold hair tone. Her eyes are blue, though portrayed as green in select color illustrations. She wears matching earrings given to Team 10 by Sarutobi Asuma, and her later attire shifts to more revealing sleeveless and crop-top garments revealing a mature, curvaceous figure.

Born into Konohagakure's Yamanaka clan, Ino befriended a bullied Haruno Sakura during childhood, giving her a red ribbon to help overcome her forehead complex and defending her from harassers. Though their bond temporarily shifted into a romantic rivalry over Uchiha Sasuke, their serious battle during the Chunin Exams led to mutual respect and rekindled their true friendship. During Pain's invasion of Konoha, she alerted her father Yamanaka Inoichi and aided in deducing the enemy's identity. In the Fourth Shinobi World War, her telepathic communication proved vital for the Shinobi Alliance. Following the war, she married Sai and gave birth to their son, Yamanaka Inojin.
