As a highly skilled medical-nin trusted by top village officials, Shizune continues her secretarial and executive duties under subsequent Hokages, including Kakashi Hatake and Naruto Uzumaki, while remaining a key figure in Konoha's medical operations.
Appearance
Shizune is characterized by her short black hair and dark eyes. She typically wears a black kimono during daily activities, switching to a standard Konoha flak jacket when setting out on ninja missions. She is frequently accompanied by a small pet pig named Tonton. Even into her late nineties in timeline progression, her physical features remain remarkably youthful with only faint lines near her eyes.
Personality
Deeply dutiful, practical, and attentive, Shizune functions as a grounded counterpart to Tsunade's erratic behavior. She is not afraid to assert her stance regardless of who she is addressing, earning her unwavering trust from both Tsunade and the village leadership. Though composed, she has a habit of letting out a quirky shriek when startled or flustered, and can react strongly when teased about her age or physical proportions.
Abilities
Recognized as one of Konoha's foremost medical-nin, Shizune commands advanced healing techniques such as the Chakra Scalpel. In combat, she excels in concealed projectile marksmanship and toxic jutsu, notably releasing vast clouds of deadly mist using Ninja Art: Poison Fog. She is also capable of performing the Transformation Technique and the Shadow Clone Technique.
Background
The niece of Dan Kato, Shizune became Tsunade's apprentice during her years traveling away from the village. After Tsunade assumed the mantle of Fifth Hokage, Shizune took charge of administrative management in Konoha. During Pain's invasion, she helped analyze the enemy's abilities before temporarily losing her life, later being resurrected through Nagato's technique. In the Fourth Shinobi World War, she led the Logistical Support and Medical Division, subsequently continuing her role as an executive assistant and leading figure in Konoha's medical department.
Relationships
Dan Kato is Shizune's uncle. She shares a deep bond of mutual reliance with her master, Tsunade, who places total trust in her. She takes care of the small pig Tonton. As Haruno Sakura's senior fellow student under Tsunade, Shizune acts as a supportive mentor figure to her. She also works closely with Hatake Kakashi, Nara Shikamaru, and Uzumaki Naruto in executing Hokage office responsibilities.
Trivia
Her personal hobby includes visiting cultural heritage sites. She has placed in official character popularity polls and frequently appears in comedic omake segments and theatrical films, sometimes featuring alternate character depictions.
