Senju Hashirama is a man with long straight black hair and dark eyes. He wears traditional protective armor equipped with shoulder guards over a dark ninja outfit. Upon activating Sage Mode, distinct facial markings appear around his eyes.
Personality
Hashirama possesses an open-hearted, genial, and deeply idealistic personality. He views the villagers of the Hidden Leaf as extensions of his own family and prioritizes their well-being above all. Although easily disheartened by criticism and prone to sudden bouts of gloom, he recovers almost instantly. Despite his gentle nature and occasional gullibility, he harbors an unyielding resolve to eliminate anyone who threatens the village's peace, regardless of personal ties. He also carries a fondness for gambling.
Abilities
Hashirama wields the Wood Release kekkei genkai, allowing him to instantaneously generate vast forests with Deep Forest Emergence, as well as create giant wooden dragons and titans capable of absorbing chakra and countering Tailed Beasts. He possesses natural passive self-healing that operates without hand seals and boasts massive chakra reserves. In combat, he employs suppressing techniques such as the Hokage Style Sixty-Year-Old Technique, the Four Red Yang Formation barrier, and the deity gates of Gracious Deity Gates. He can enter Sage Mode instantly, manifesting the monumental True Several Thousand Hands statue.
Background
Born during an era of constant warfare, Hashirama lost younger siblings at an early age, motivating him to seek a world where children would not have to fight. Alongside Uchiha Madara, whom he met in his youth, he eventually brought an end to the clan conflict and established the Hidden Leaf Village. When Madara later turned against the village, Hashirama fought him in a decisive duel at the Valley of the End. Long after his death, his living cells and legacy continued to shape historical events, leading to his reanimation via Edo Tensei during major crises.
Relationships
Uchiha Madara was Hashirama's childhood friend and lifelong rival. His younger brother, Senju Tobirama, served as his realistic advisor and ultimate successor. He married Uzumaki Mito, and his grandchildren include Tsunade, who later became the Fifth Hokage, and Nawaki.
