Overview
Bojack is the main antagonist featured in the anime film Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound. As the leader of the Hera Clan, a crew of galactic pirates who once terrorized the universe, he was previously sealed away by the four Kais. He regains his freedom following the death of the North Kai during the battle with Cell, after which he invades Earth alongside his four loyal henchmen to seize the World Martial Arts Tournament.
Appearance
In his base form, Bojack has dark teal-blue skin, long orange hair, blue eyes, pointy ears, and thick eyebrows, built with a heavy muscular frame and defined abs. He wears a space-pirate style outfit consisting of a vest, a waist sash, matching belt and boots, and a bandana around his head. Upon transforming into his powered-up state, his upper garments tear off, his muscle mass expands, his skin turns yellow-green, and his hair changes to red.
Personality
Living up to the meaning of his name, Bojack is exceedingly arrogant, ruthless, and bloodthirsty. He exhibits complete disregard for others, showing no empathy or loyalty toward his subordinates, whom he will heartlessly use as living shields to protect himself in battle. He possesses an aggressive demeanor driven by immense pride in his own physical strength.
Abilities
Even in his base state, Bojack commands combat capabilities that surpass standard Super Saiyans. Upon transforming into his full-power form, his strength, speed, and durability increase immensely. In combat, he utilizes powerful energy attacks, including his signature technique known as the Galactic Buster.
Background
Centuries ago, Bojack led his crew in rampaging across the four cardinal galaxies until he was imprisoned by the four Kais inside a star. He was inadvertently liberated when the North Kai died during the Cell Games. Reclaiming his freedom, Bojack gathered his henchmen—Gokua, Zangya, Bido, and Bujin—and targeted Earth by taking over a martial arts tournament. After overpowering Earth's defenders, he was ultimately defeated when Son Gohan awakened his Super Saiyan 2 form.
Relationships
Bojack serves as the commanding leader over his four henchmen: Gokua, Zangya, Bido, and Bujin. He fights directly against Son Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, and Krillin. He is ultimately destroyed in combat by Son Gohan after Son Goku temporarily intervenes from the Other World.
Trivia
The name Bojack is derived from the Japanese phrase 'Bojakubujin,' which translates to acting outrageously or insolently without regard for others. His character visual was designed by original author Akira Toriyama, who gave the pirate-themed crew a cohesive look through shared belt and boot motifs.
