Overview

Pikkon is an anime-original character who appears in the Dragon Ball Z animated series and its feature films. Representing the West Galaxy in the Other World, he is celebrated as its most formidable martial artist. Possessing exceptional combat capabilities, he can effortlessly subdue powerful villains causing chaos in Hell, and he serves as one of the premier combatants in the Other World's grand martial arts competition.

Appearance

Pikkon features an alien appearance characterized by green skin, no nose, cylindrical ears, thick lips, and sharp eyes with red irises. He wears a tall white hat, a blue undershirt beneath a white robe, and brown boots. His hat and outer garments are exceptionally heavy, which he sheds when fighting at maximum effort. In a specialized game form, he sports a updated outfit bearing the Kai mark on the chest.

Personality

Pikkon is a deeply stoic, polite, and cool-headed warrior who maintains a disciplined demeanor. His serious commitment to martial arts leads Son Goku to compare his overall manner to Piccolo. Although consistently composed and courteous, he is capable of surprising displays of passionate, unfiltered frustration when forced into desperate circumstances during critical battles.

Abilities

Pikkon possesses high-level combat prowess and immense energy, capable of incapacitating major villains in Hell with minimal strikes. His techniques include the Hyper Tornado, which generates destructive spinning gusts or slashing wind, and the Thunder Flash, a fire-based blast preceded by a bright flash and a distinctive charging movement. He also utilizes the Burning Shoot (also known as Flame Bird Strike), a flame-infused physical assault ending in a heavy blow, as well as a potent green energy sphere.

Background

Following his death, Pikkon continued his martial arts journey in the Other World. When former enemies incited a riot in Hell, he was dispatched to quickly quell the threat. He participated in the Other World Martial Arts Tournament, defeating top contenders like Olibu and Arqua to reach the finals against Son Goku. During later crises in Hell, he offered crucial support alongside Son Goku and Vegeta to restore order.

Relationships

Through their climactic match in the Other World Tournament, Pikkon established a respectful rivalry and partnership with Son Goku, often teaming up with him during emergencies in the afterlife. He also fights alongside fellow Other World warrior Olibu, acts on instructions from the Kai, and provides critical cover to aid Son Goku and Vegeta when joint efforts are required.

Trivia

His name is derived from the Taiwanese dish Paiko Fan (pork rib rice). Despite originating as an anime-exclusive character for Dragon Ball Z filler and film content, Pikkon has remained a recurring figure across the franchise, appearing in recap sequences of later animated adaptations and featuring as a playable character with original enhancements in various video games.
