Suno

Overview

Suno is a supporting character from the Dragon Ball series. She lives with her father and mother in Jingle Village, a settlement located in a snowy northern region. During Son Goku's battle against the Red Ribbon Army, she rescued the young protagonist after he collapsed from the intense cold and nursed him back to health at her home. Known as one of Goku's early benefactors, she makes a memorable reappearance as an adult during the Majin Buu arc.

Appearance

Suno is defined by her straight red hair and wears warm winter clothing suitable for the freezing environment of her village. Her visual design closely mirrors that of Panji, a prominent character from the movie Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies.

Personality

Suno possesses a deeply kind and compassionate heart, unhesitatingly bringing a freezing stranger into her home to care for him. She approaches others without prejudice, quickly forming a warm bond with Android 8. She also displays a firm, responsible side, not hesitating to scold Son Goku when he ignores basic rules.

Abilities

Suno is an ordinary human girl without combat skills or supernatural powers. However, during the final battle against Majin Buu, she contributed her own life energy to Son Goku's Spirit Bomb after hearing his voice.

Background

Suno grew up in Jingle Village while it was threatened by the Red Ribbon Army. After finding Son Goku collapsed in the freezing cold, she brought him home, cementing their friendship. Following the village's liberation, she continued living peacefully alongside Android 8. In the animated series, she visited King Castle during the Piccolo Daimao threat and appeared in a safety education feature meeting Goku on her way to West City. During the Majin Buu saga, she reappears as a grown woman to send energy to Goku alongside Android 8.

Relationships

Suno maintains a lasting friendship with Son Goku, whom she saved during his childhood and continues to respect as a hero. She shares a close relationship with Android 8, affectionately known as Hacchan, residing alongside him peacefully in her village. She also lives together with her mother and father.

Trivia

Suno's name originates from the English word snow. Her name was initially created for the anime adaptation and was only canonized in the original manga during the Majin Buu arc. When Android 8 called out her name in the manga, some readers amusingly mistook the phrasing for a sudden verbal quirk adopted by the android. Additionally, fans often note her striking visual similarity to Panji.
