Gamma 1

Overview

Gamma 1 is an Android created by Dr. Hedo for the reformed Red Ribbon Army, debuting in the animated film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Designed as the first in a new line of hero-themed Androids, he operates under the firm belief that he is fighting for justice.

Appearance

Gamma 1 is an Android equipped with a single fin-like crest on his head. He wears a yellow uniform featuring the number '1' printed on the chest, paired with gloves and a red cape. His eyes have black irises set against yellow sclerae, and he carries a red ray gun.

Personality

Gamma 1 is serious, calm, and deeply devoted to Dr. Hedo. He possesses a strong sense of duty as a righteous hero, often reprimanding his partner Gamma 2 for his playful behavior, though he still shares a close bond with him and occasionally joins in his hero poses. While he usually speaks using polite phrasing, his tone becomes more rough and emotional when driven by passion.

Abilities

Engineered to be an ultimate combatant, Gamma 1 possesses power capable of overpowering Super Saiyan Gohan and matching Ultimate Gohan. He features an adaptive learning mechanism that analyzes an opponent's fighting style during battle to continuously boost his performance. Possessing massive energy reserves, he can fight at maximum power for extended periods. He excels at close-quarters martial arts as well as long-range attacks using his red ray gun.

Background

Created by Dr. Hedo under the influence of the Red Ribbon Army, Gamma 1 was led to believe that the Capsule Corporation was an evil entity. Sent into battle against Gohan and Piccolo, he began to question his mission upon witnessing their true nature and motives. When Magenta unleashed Cell Max, Gamma 1 joined forces with Gohan and the others to defend his creator, later mourning the loss of Gamma 2 after his heroic sacrifice. Following the battle, he attempted to surrender to the authorities, but after being turned away due to a lack of suitable facilities, he and Dr. Hedo were hired as bodyguards for Capsule Corporation.

Relationships

Gamma 1 is intensely loyal to his creator, Dr. Hedo. He maintains a brotherly bond with Gamma 2, frequently scolding his levity while keeping a close partnership. Though he initially targeted Son Gohan and Piccolo as enemies, their battle cleared the misunderstanding and transformed them into allies against Cell Max. He later transitions to working under Bulma at Capsule Corporation.

Trivia

The visual concept for Gamma 1 draws inspiration from classic tokusatsu superheroes such as Ultraman. In the original Japanese version, he is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya.
