Overview
Neiz is a character appearing in the theatrical anime film Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge and related games. He is a warrior belonging to Cooler's Armored Squadron, an elite unit serving Cooler. Originating from Planet Cooler No. 6 (formerly known as Planet Zolt), an aquatic world, he stands out among his squadmates for his distinctly non-humanoid shape and exceptional agility.
Appearance
Neiz is a slender combatant with distinctive red skin and a facial structure resembling a frog. He equips a headphone-style scouter identical in model to the one worn by Appule.
Personality
Around his allies, Neiz demonstrates a cheerful and lighthearted temperament, though he treats enemies with ruthless cruelty. However, he is prone to overconfidence and carelessness, occasionally committing foolish errors such as mistaking scouter readings for wild fauna or dropping his guard during combat.
Abilities
Neiz possesses a combat power rating of 163,000. Evolving from amphibian ancestors, he has a highly pliable anatomy that allows him to retract his head into his torso like a turtle and stretch his limbs. Alongside his agility, his primary weapon is generating and projecting high-voltage electric currents from specialized organs inside his body to paralyze opponents.
Background
Neiz travels to Earth as part of Cooler's Armored Squadron to eliminate Son Goku and his companions. During the invasion, he engages Piccolo in battle and successfully traps him with a high-voltage electrical assault. However, his arrogance proves fatal when Piccolo counters the technique, turning the electric current back against him and killing him. In the Famicom game Dragon Ball Z III: Ressen Jinzōningen, he and Dore abduct Bulma to force the creation of a Dragon Radar.
Relationships
Neiz is a loyal subordinate to Cooler and serves alongside teammates Salza and Dore. Although he frequently bickers with Dore, he shows deep anger upon learning of Dore's death. In battle, he overlooks Krillin by mistaking his power reading for a wild beast, and later meets his end against Piccolo. In gaming appearances, he directly targets Bulma and faces Vegeta.
Trivia
His name is derived as a pun on the condiment mayonnaise. In the video game Dragon Ball Z III: Ressen Jinzōningen, color-swapped palette variants of his character design appear as enemy combatants named Karmas (blue-skinned) and Mainez (green-skinned).
