Overview

Kibito is a supporting character in the Dragon Ball series who serves as the loyal attendant to the East Supreme Kai. Appearing across works such as Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball DAIMA, he assists the Supreme Kai in matters involving the divine realm. Characterized by his tall frame and stern demeanor, Kibito plays an essential auxiliary role throughout the narrative.

Appearance

Kibito is a middle-aged man with a large build, reddish skin, and a stern, authoritative presence. He wears traditional attire suited for an attendant in the Supreme Kai's realm. In Dragon Ball DAIMA, a wish granted by Shenron transforms him into a child-like figure about the size of a first-grader.

Personality

Initially, Kibito exhibits a proud and condescending attitude toward mortals, expressing reluctance to allow humans into the sacred realm of the Supreme Kai. He doubted Son Gohan's capabilities regarding the Z-Sword, but quickly came to respect him after witnessing his power firsthand. Although serious and dutiful, he shows a lighter side in Dragon Ball DAIMA, complaining when he is repeatedly asked to teleport others on short notice.

Abilities

Kibito possesses considerable combat prowess, able to spar almost evenly with Zamasu of Universe 10. His primary specialized abilities include instant teleportation, a technique he executes with greater proficiency than the Supreme Kai himself, and specialized healing powers known as Resurrection Power, a unique supportive capability granted specifically to divine attendants.

Background

Kibito accompanied the East Supreme Kai to Earth to stop the revival of Majin Buu, bringing him into contact with Son Gohan and his allies. Early in the conflict, he was killed by Dabura, but was subsequently revived using the Dragon Balls. After accidentally fusing with the East Supreme Kai via the Potara earrings into Kibito Kai, he spent extended time in that state before successfully reverting back using the Dragon Balls. In Dragon Ball DAIMA, he is turned into a child by King Goma's wish to Shenron.

Relationships

Kibito works in close tandem with the East Supreme Kai, whom he serves faithfully and was once fused with via Potara. Though initially dismissive of Son Gohan, he came to hold deep respect for the young warrior's strength. He sparred with Zamasu of Universe 10, earning praise for Universe 7's martial strength, though Kibito's past prejudice against mortals briefly caused him to be suspected during the investigation into Goku Black.

Trivia

According to creator Akira Toriyama's design ethos, visually formidable characters are not always the strongest, a concept reflected in Kibito's tragic early defeat despite his powerful appearance. Additionally, his healing ability is defined as a specific function tied to his role as an attendant, disappearing if he ceases to hold that position.
